Tressa's best build for Season 2 is completely changed to focus on generating Shadow Daggers to activate Hugo's Commence the Hunt while replenishing his stacks. This forces Tressa to rely more on her card generation rather than agony stacking because it is now limited and harder to maintain.

She is best suited with the 2/2/2 set combining Black Wing, Cursed Corpse and Executioner's Tool to further enhance the damage of both her cards and Agony damage.

While her favored chaos zone is Burning Life to get her best equipment such as Dagger That Tricked The Shadow for a 12% critical damage buff. Fairy King's Crown to get a 6% critical chance buff and Verdant Shackles to boost her attack and defense stat for more card and agony damage.

Sub DPS Support
Hugo Hugo Narja Narja

As of Season 2, Tressa's best team is Hugo and Narja. Tressa helps activate and replenish Hugo's Commence the Hunt to deal high single-target damage alongside inflicting Agony stacks to deal even more damage while he also helps with drawing cards.

Narja, on the other hand, helps with reducing the cost of the cards especially Tressa's Unsheathe Dagger so that the team can easily play their cards every turn while providing additive damage buffs with Voracity and Predation that can also heal when activated.

Character Explanation
Cassius Cassius Can replace Narja as a Sub-DPS/Support. As of the Season 2 Balance, Cassius' buffs can only reach up to 3 stacks of Morale now. However, he is still useful with his heals, draw, damage buffs and attack cards albeit much weaker than Season 1.
Rei Rei Can replace Narja as a Support so that Tressa's Shadow Daggers can deal a lot of damage alongside her Vital Attack card thanks to her additive damage buffs.
Nia Nia Can replace Narja as a Support. She can heal and provide damage buffs while doing card draws. She can recover AP with Eternal Hunger combo but this card can only be used outside of Season 2 content.
Mika Mika Can replace Narja as a Support. She can always heal the party immensely and is excellent at recovering AP for the party however she cannot buff damage buffs and does not have access to card draws.

Vital Attack Vital Attack AP Cost: 2

If target's Agony is 3, or more, trigger 1 more time

As of Season 2, the heal Tressa build is gone and her strongest selection of cards revolves around generating Shadow Daggers because Agony's effectiveness is less too. First, her Unsheathe Dagger can be either the 0 AP epiphany that creates 2 Shadow Daggers or the 1 AP epiphany that creates 3 instead. You can choose either as long as you can insert a divine epiphany to it.

Next would be her Shadow Reload, the best epiphany is the ability to convert all Shadow Dagger in draw, discard, hand and used pile to turn into Advanced Shadow Dagger. This is best used when you are near max Agony stack so that each Advanced Shadow Dagger hits harder.

Lastly, her Vital Attack that has the epiphany that gives it a condition of activating one more time if the target has 3 or more Agony stacks as this will yield the highest damage and doesn't require much to fulfill. As for Curse and Cursed Gouge, these two cards are best removed from her deck.

Voluntary Control Voluntary Control AP Cost: 1

As for Hugo's cards, his best choices are still the Hunting Instincts that also grants him coordinated attack after activating Commence the Hunt, Quick Fix and Dingo Howling both for draw so that the team can get their cards easily every turn.

Narja's choice should be centered on stacking as much Voracity with Voluntary Control and spending it via Bottomless Hunger to reduce the cost of cards by 1 or Shackles of Hunger to boost the damage of Vital Attack by 200% at max stacks.

Partner Details
Eloise Eloise Passive Effect:
Activate Defense Module - The combatant's attack card damage increases by 10%.
When the combatant first Exhausts a card or first gains a Status Ailment card, their attack card damage increases by 12% for 1 turn.
Ego Skill:
Technical Support - For 1 turn, when a card is Exhausted, 1 weaken to a random enemy.

As of Season 2, Tressa no longer relies on Agony damage therefore her best partner must revolve around buffing card damage which Eloise does the best out of every Psionic Partner. All of her passive effects are multiplicative damage buffs while she can inflict a lot of weaken debuff to the enemy if you time it right.

Partner Explanation
Zatera Zatera If you do not have access to Eloise, you can use Zatera instead as she is the only 3 star Psionic partner capable of buffing Tressa's attack stat. Otherwise, that's her only purpose as her other passive effect and ego skill revolves around heals and shields which she doesn't need anymore.

Black Wing offers an attack stat increase which enhances her card and Agony damage while Cursed Corpse gives a 10% multiplicate damage buff against targets with Agony. Executioner's Tool is used to increase her critical damage to deal more damage with her Shadow Daggers.

Offering of the Void is only better if you can consistently create Advanced Shadow Daggers and hit an enemy with a full 20 stack Agony otherwise the 2/2/2 set is better.

For both main stats and substats, aim for Void Damage, Critical Chance and Critical Damage. She doesn't rely on Agony damage anymore therefore focus more on increasing her offensive stats such as attack, critical chance and damage if you can. You can still increase her damage over time but it is not a priority in this build.

As for refinements, despite being multiplicative damage buffs, those are still her best choice with exhaust cards increasing it by 25% or when the party has 18 or less cards for 30%. After the February 25 Patch, she can also choose the 30% additive damage buff to 1 AP or lower attack cards.

Shadow Dagger Commence the Hunt Combo

As of Season 2, Tressa revolves around generating cheap attack cards to inflict Agony and activate Hugo's Commence the Hunt. This will let you deal high single-target damage as she can refresh his stacks by using her skill cards before unleashing a flurry of attacks. Here are the steps to do this combo:

  1. Make sure you have played all Hunting Insticts cards
  2. Use Narja's cards to get Voracity for the additive buffs and the card discount effect
  3. Play Unsheathe Dagger first to increase Hunting Instincts stacks then use the Shadow Daggers to consume it
  4. Always exhaust all three created Shadow Daggers before using another Unsheathe Dagger
  5. (Optional) If Agony is at 20 stacks, use Shadow Reload to convert all Shadow Daggers to Advanced Shadow Dagger
  6. Repeat until you have no Unsheathe Dagger in hand or AP left to use

Shadow Reload Converts All Shadow Daggers Even Outside of Hand

The new epiphany 4 for Shadow Reload states that it exhausts all Shadow Dagger and replace it with Advanced Shadow Dagger in hand. When the game says all, it means the cards from the draw pile, discard pile and your hand are affected and will count all of it and create as many Advanced Shadow Dagger in your hand.

Cursed Gouge Only Activates Tressa's Agony

Despite what the card says, it can only activate Agony inflicted by Tressa herself. Any other sources of Agony from other combatants will not be activated.
