Humanity's Mission to Purify Chaos
Chaos Cores engulf entire planets, giving rise to grotesque creatures of all kinds that emerge to wreak havoc. Yet, even in the face of such devastation, humanity refuses to yield. United by a shared purpose, they have dedicated themselves to eliminating these monsters and purifying the Chaos that spawns them.

Retrieving Renoa from the Blue Pot
Our story begins with the captain of the SS Nightmare suffering from short-term memory loss following the previous Chaos infiltration. As the captain begins to regain their memories, they recall being saved by the Vice-Captain, Renoa, during an encounter with a colossal monster. Renoa had given the captain her Life Core to activate the emergency recall protocol and send him back to the ship, leaving her behind.
As the memories return, the captain devises a plan to find and rescue Renoa from the Blue Pot. The squad sets out on their mission and discovers the colossal monster already dead. Nearby, they find a hidden chamber containing Renoa’s unconscious body. Owen, a rookie member of the team, carries Renoa as they prepare to leave the area.
However, as they make their way back, an unknown entity emerges from the monster’s corpse, leaving them no choice but to fight. Despite their efforts, the squad is unable to defeat the entity. Just as all seems lost, a mysterious figure appears, swiftly dispatches the creature, and joins them toward the nearest waypoint. Together, they return to the SS Nightmare with Renoa safely in tow.
Crux Cardinalis Judas' Interference
With everyone safely back aboard the SS Nightmare, the mysterious man who saved their lives introduces himself as Loius, an inspector from the Investigations Bureau. Shortly after, the captain receives a transmission from Judas, a member of the Holy Crusaders’ Sacred See, an order dedicated to infiltrating and purifying Chaos. Judas demands custody of Inspector Loius, accusing him of leaking classified information from the Holy Crusaders and declaring him a heretic.
Lacking any solid evidence to support the claim, the captain refuses Judas' request. Enraged, Judas launches an attack on the ship. In response, the SS Nightmare initiates a warp to the Trion Ark, hoping to request mediation between the captain and Judas, as they cannot afford confrontation with the Holy Crusaders.
Judas' Unholy Actions
The Holy Monarch, Azelante, invites the captain to Haven, offering to mediate between him and Judas. After the mediation, Azelante privately requests that the captain put a stop to Judas' actions. Following this, the Nightmare Squad visits the Silver Knights and meets their commander, Luche, who joins them on a mission to evade Judas’s watchful eyes and ears while discussing the events of his past.
Some time later, Luche contacts the SS Nightmare with urgent news: Judas plans to perform a purification rite to cleanse a Chaos Core. The squad, accompanied by Luche, infiltrates the Chaos zone to observe the ritual, only to discover that Judas and his followers intend to sacrifice a person to purify the Chaos.
Despite their attempts to intervene, Judas proceeds with the ritual and offers the sacrifice to the core. A monstrous entity emerges from it, forcing the team into battle. To their surprise, Judas' plan succeeds. The contamination level of the area drops, and the skies clear, signaling that the Chaos has indeed been purified.
Back at Haven, the group confronts Judas, and a fierce battle erupts as Luche charges him with murder. Azelante intervenes, catching Judas off guard and enabling his capture.
Final Fight with Judas
The Captain was introduced to Orlea, a priestess who can foresee the future, and together they set out to retrieve an old tome. However, the tome took control of Owen, forcing the group to destroy it in order to free him. Orlea only caught fragments of the tome’s visions, and they all returned to the SS Nightmare. They then received a transmission from Inspector Louis and learned that Judas had escaped from captivity and was on his way to the Foretold Ruin.
Commander Luche joined the SS Nightmare to help stop Judas. Beryl and the Wolf Platoon offered their support as well, and the SS Nightmare squad transferred to the SS Green Dragon to avoid clashing with the Holy Crusaders’ ships. The team arrived at the Foretold Ruin and advanced toward the core, only to be stopped by the Holy Crusaders’ vanguard. They fought them off and confronted Judas soon after. With Judas' power off the charts, Azelante appeared and helped put an end to his rampage.
Judas finally finds peace and dies, which prevented the Chaos Core from evolving into something that could have brought about the end of Haven, as foreseen by Orlea. However, this does not mark the end of the prophecy, as Orlea still feels uneasy about what is to come.
