This is a patch summary list for the changes coming on January 14's patch for Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN). Read on to view a summary of the livestream including Narja's info, additional features, new events, and other quality of life and game changes.

The Forbidden Catalyst season 1 will come to an end. The Nebula Distortion and The Great Rift will be removed from the game. However, Laboratory 0 will be added as a standard content and can be entered as part of the existing chaos manifestation worlds.
Story progress will also be retained and can be continued. It is also mandatory to complete Act 1, Chapter 5, Episode 5 to proceed with the game's act 2.
Season 1 Update: Forbidden Catalyst
The Spiral Tower of Screams will be added to the game. The current mode will only be in Beta and it can only be tackled up to the 50th floor. The mode can only be accessed after reaching captain level 45.

The [Overdrive - Simulation] is an event allowing you to earn double rewards from Simulations each day. Each day, you can receive 2x rewards from up to 6 Simulation runs. These bonus opportunities reset daily at 18:00 (UTC+0) during the event period.

The new combatant Narja will be added to the standard pool after her rate-up period ends. She's an instinct controller that relies on the new Voracity and Predation mechanic to provide both healing and damage to combatants which makes her a great support for both sustain and damage.

Gaya is Narja's designated partner and is set to release on the same date as Narja. She amplifies the combatant's defense-based instinct card while also having a team-wide buff if she uses a 6 cost unique card from the combatant she's partnered with. This makes her a partner that can't be paired with other controllers but shines well when with Narja herself.

Two new trauma codes will be added to the game. Narja's Trauma Code will be one of the added code together with Luke which is one of the default 5 star combatants in the game.

A new season of Basin Hyperspace will be added to the game. There are a totla of 48 battles with the support effect “+30% defense-based damage for 1 turn upon using an attack card”. This makes both Narja's capabilities perfect for the content as well as other damage-focused Vanguard units like Khalipe.
The game's existing skip option will be improved. The skip feature can be used on story content you have viewed from the first time but will be unavailable for the following scenes.

After the January 14 update, you will now obtain loots from waypoints. This can let you complete the 4 passes per week much swifter.
During counseling on the Epione Center, keyword effects will be added to the choices and you'll be able to visualize the effect of the choices to the combatant.
Save data customization will obtain several quality of life improvements including the ability to use the same sticker multiple times, flipping stickers horizontally, etc.

Amir's special lobby will be added to the game, lobby perk requires affinity level 10 to unlock.
Magna, Mei Lin, and Narja's bond stories will be added to the game. The perks are unlocked at affinity level 15.
Several improvements to Memory Fragments will be added such as the ability to immediately level a fragment to 5, marking a fragment as discard for easy dismantling, and other set icon indicators to identify matching fragments.

The method for adjusting animation speed in Unidentified Areas will be changed. Before: Speed-up activated by long-pressing the button After: Speed-up activated when the button is toggled on For Galactic Disaster Chaos, Chaos Manifestation, and the Codex, the animation speed activation state and speed setting from the previous stage will now carry over when starting a new stage. A feature to set animation speed levels for Unidentified Areas will be added. When the speed-up button is activated, you can adjust the speed to your desired level using the speed control button. Animation speed settings are now shared between Unidentified Areas and Story content. The maximum display speed limit for speech bubble animations in Unidentified Areas will be removed. |

Codex Merge Grade Synchronization. The Galactic Disaster Chaos difficulty and Codex grade are now synchronized. Based on the highest difficulty cleared in Galactic Disaster Chaos, the Codex merge grade in the Zero System will be unlocked accordingly. The Codex level increase options that appear as choices upon clearing a Codex have been increased. Before: 2–4 levels After: 8–10 levels Adjusted Codex Merge Rates. The maximum holding limit for the item Special Security Code will be capped at 3. Any excess quantity held prior to the update will be retained. If there are no rescue records available to view in Rescue History, a guide message popup will now be displayed. New Combatant reaction animations will be added when using “Go on an Excursion” and “Send Gift”. Some monster sound effects in Unidentified Areas will be improved. Sound effects will be added to the visuals triggered by Chizuru’s Shadow of the Moon+ continuous strikes. An elite monster, Suppressed Servant, will be added to Laboratory 0. The Unidentified Area title icon in Chaos missions will be updated to a Chaos-specific icon. When re-entering nodes with story choices in Trauma Code, a summary feature will be added to allow faster progression. The background of the Trauma Code story map will be updated from a shared background to one based on each Combatant’s Mental Breakdown type. A Season category will be added to the Card Collection. Upon completing Galactic Disaster Story – Chapter 3. Catalyst of Evolution #07 [HA-87], the “Petit Haku” sticker will be unlocked. This will be applied retroactively and distributed during maintenance to Protos who have already completed the content. A Rare-grade Battle Mission Unlock policy will be added. An issue where the damage dealt to enemies after applying Agony was applied differently from the value previewed on the HP bar will be fixed. An intermittent issue where the Combatant was not displayed during animations when using Sereniel’s attack cards will be fixed. An issue where Narja’s attack animation would occasionally play when using another Combatant’s card after using a Narja card will be fixed. The following issues related to Chaos Fate: Inspiration will be fixed: • An issue where the 4th Epiphany of Tressa’s Shadow Reload card did not receive additional generation from Fate: Inspiration. • An issue where cards duplicated via Spirit Kefox monster cards incorrectly received the effects of Fate: Inspiration. |

As part of preparations for a major overhaul of the Zero System and Codex, the Reset function for Zero Skill Upgrades will be temporarily disabled. In a future update, a large-scale revamp of the Zero System is scheduled. At that time, all existing upgrades will be reset. The Chaos Orbs previously used for upgrades will be carefully converted into a new currency and distributed at the time of the revamp. This temporary restriction is intended to ensure that all upgrades are included in the conversion process. We kindly ask for the understanding and patience of all Protos during this process. |

Typos in Epione Center > Counseling Records will be fixed. An issue where the Weaken description was not displayed when previewing Galactic Disaster > Monster Card > Thought Debris will be fixed. An issue where unobtainable items were displayed in the Rare Species description in Galactic Disaster > Chaos > Minimap will be fixed. An issue where the background of Prologue 1: The Blue Pot > SS Nightmare – Infirmary was displayed abnormally on certain devices will be fixed. An issue where long Combatant profile descriptions overlapped with the Profile / Voice / Expression buttons will be fixed. Minor adjustments have been made to NPC Nono’s illustration. Minor adjustments have been made to Sereniel’s hair illustration. An issue where Combatants marked as Favorites in Unigram were not displayed in Ark City > Excursion Area under certain conditions will be fixed. An issue where the quantity of the Recruitment Contract – Partner item obtained as the Arkhianon Supply Level 30 reward was displayed as 0 will be fixed. An issue where, when obtaining Legendary Equipment via Chaos > Fate Acquisition, equipment tied to locked exploration rewards could occasionally be obtained will be fixed. An issue where the Valuable Intel effect obtained in Galactic Disaster > Chaos was applied only to the second item in Dellang Shop will be fixed. An issue where the game could occasionally become unplayable when pressing Back after using Quick Formation will be fixed. An issue where the lower portion of the screen was partially cut off in Sereniel’s presentation popup on certain devices will be fixed. The battle against Picky Palate at Waypoint A in Trauma Code [Haru] will be removed. An issue where animation speed would not deactivate in certain situations after selecting the Unidentified Area animation speed-up button will be fixed. An issue where the Weakness Attack effect text was not displayed for Peko > Ego Skill > Overclock Beacon will be fixed. An issue where tooltip content was not displayed when the amount of text exceeded the tooltip window size in Ego Skill Details will be fixed. |
