Aether Eaters are elusive and extremely durable creatures that reward rare gear upon defeating them in Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN). Learn how to defeat Aether Eaters and the best strategies to use against them.

Avoid Killing Its Allies
The best way to defeat an Aether-Eater is to avoid focusing on the other enemies surrounding it. Aether Eaters do not run away until they lose health or when its allies are alive, so it is highly advised not to rush down its allies the moment you encounter one.
Use the Cards it Generates Against It
After hitting an Aether-Eater, you'll obtain a random item that will let you trigger multiple hits against it or get extra AP for using other cards. This will only happen the first two hits so it's mandatory to plan on when you'll use your combo attacks against the Aether Eater
Focus Multiple Attacks On One Turn
While the Aether Eater only has a few HP, each hit will only deal one damage. It's recommended to use moves that hit multiple times over other moves that only deal one big burst of damage in one go.
What Are Aether Eaters
Rare Enemies With High Durability
Aether Eaters are rare non-hostile enemies that you can encounter when exploring Chaos Manifestation zones. They are often accompanied by regular enemies and do not launch any offensive moves on the player.
Only Takes 1 Damage And Replenishes Shield Every Turn
One of the Aether Eater's unique traits is its ability to take only 1 damage every time it's attacked. It also replenishes 3 shields every turn, which makes it extremely difficult to kill, as each shield will also only take 1 damage per damage instance taken.
Gives Offensive Cards When Hit
When an Aether Eater is attacked and takes damage, it will provide a random attack card to the player that they can use to damage the Aether Eater. Use this in tandem with your other attack cards to combo it and take it down.
Rewards For Defeating Aether Eaters
Rewards Yellow Equipment
The main reward for besting an Aether-Eater is a legendary (yellow) equipment. After the battle, you'll get an additional legendary equipment which makes it worthwhile to take down an Aether Eater when spotted.
