Deep Trauma is a special status effect in Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN) that has a chance of inflicting to a character after experiencing at least one mental breakdown in a run or a link crash. Learn more about what deep trauma is, how to remove and the benefits here!

Deep Trauma is a status effect outside of any game modes that a character has a chance to get after suffering a mental breakdown at least once in a Chaos Manifestation run.
Deep Trauma is guaranteed to happen to one character if the party suffered a Link Crash.

Starting a Deep Trauma run will add Mental Afflictions to your party, giving them additional conditions that increase their Stress during the run. For example, Cassius gains 4 Stress whenever he receives a piece of equipment.
These Mental Afflictions only apply in Chaos Runs, so using your Combatants in Simulation Runs or story chapters will not trigger any afflictions to increase their Stress.

Counseling uses a daily resource called Communication Pass to initiate a choice-based theraphy session to overcome that character's deep trauma.
This will remove their deep trauma status, retain their corrupted save data and increase their affinity level based on the choices you made. This is best for characters you will always use or you want to keep the save file.

Inside Psychotheraphy, you can choose to delete the memories of a character with deep trauma. Doing so will result to losing the corrupted save data of the character but not the previous save data they had before getting the deep trauma.
However, this will not remove their character progression such as level, potential, manifest ego (duplicates) or affinity level. This is best for characters you will never use or got a subpar save data.

Once you cure a character's deep trauma using counseling, you will obtain gems up to three times per character alongside more gems for completing all three counseling sessions.

You will also recover the corrupted data of the character you recently cured from Deep Trauma. Do note that erasing their memories will delete this corrupted save data but not the previous uncorrupted save data.

Deep Trauma Mode is the hard mode version of Chaos Manifestation. The requirement to access this mode is you need to have at least one character in the party currently undergoing a deep trauma but you cannot disable it.
However, if said character was cured of their deep trauma by counseling or memory erasure, you can manually enable it as long as that character is part of the party.
