The Tanto .22 is the SMG class's hard-hitting, close-to-mid range option with good recoil control. It deals a base torso damage of 34 per shot at 10m (for an average 3 torso shots to kill) and is best paired with the Gunfighter Wild Card to maximize its potential.
For recoil control, equip the Ported Compensator and Vertical Foregrip. Improve overall movement, such as strafing and aim speed, with Balanced Stock and Ergonomic Grip, then equip a Flip Mag for a faster reload speed with no drawback.
Extend the Tanto .22's damage range with the Long Barrel then improve its slow fire rate with the Fire Mod Rapid Fire for a shorter time-to-kill. Finalize the build with a comfortable optic like the OM3 '92 Holo.

With an improved fire-rate and high damage, the Tanto .22 is still good for a run-and-gun playstyle but its mid-range versatility is best suited for the Recon specialization.
For a good equipment kit, we recommend the Stim Shot for quick heals and tactical sprint refresh when making run-and-gun plays. The Semtex and Spring Mine will be your AoE damage options.
