The best IVs for Dimitri are +Atk and -Res. His kit works best with a high Atk since his weapon can guarantee him follow-up attacks. His Res is really low and he is not really cut for tanking magical damage so it is safe to take it as a bane.

If you prefer a unit that can survive some magical attacks with the help of Res buffs from other units, you can opt for a -Def as he can afford to take some points off this high stat of his.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a premium build for Dimitri. With refined Noble Lance's true damage and true damage reduction effects, Dimitri can deal significant damage while withstanding multiple attacks from his foes. Atk Smoke 4 further improves his bulk, while the Atk/Def skills all boost his overall performance.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a budget build for Dimitri with minimal Skill Inheritance. Since his weapon gives him a guaranteed follow-up attack when the HP requirements are met, he'll be able to deal lots of damage thanks to Death Blow 4 and Heavy Blade. Heavy Blade will help trigger his Special faster. For a slightly more premium build, you can replace Atk Smoke 3 with Rouse Atk/Def 3 to boost his stats.

Refined Noble Lance grants bonus stats, a guaranteed follow-up attack, true damage and true damage reductionequal to 10% of Dimitri's Atk, and cuts the effectiveness of foe's non-Special damage reduction skills in half.

Dimitri is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Dimitri Strengths

Noble Lance Guarantees Follow-up Attacks

Noble Lance guarantees follow-up attacks if either the enemy and Dimitri are at 100% HP or if they are both at less than 100% HP. This condition is fairly easy to meet since Dimitri can reach the right targets with his cavalry movement. If paired up with a staff healer such as Veronica or Elise, it can make it even easier. With Noble Lance combined with Death Blow 4 and the rest of his kit, Dimitri makes for a great player phase unit.

Nullifies enemy bonuses while casting a penalty

Dimitri's B skill Lull Atk/Def 3 will nullify active enemy bonuses, and simultaneously inflicts Atk/Def-3. This skill is great for cancelling out skills like Fortify or Rally and increasing the damage Dimitri can output in combat while reducing the damage he takes, but keep in mind that it will have no effect on Drive/Spur bonuses.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Dimitri takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Gronnwolf, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
