+Spd/-Def

Veronica's best IVs are +Spd and -Def. With a boon in Spd, Veronica will be able to gain follow-up attacks more easily, allowing her to fill an attacker role more easily. Since Veronica should not really be tanking enemy attacks anyway, a bane in HP or Def is ideal.

How to Use, Explanation

When attacking a foe, Veronica will inflict heavy amounts of fixed damage in addition to inflicting penalties to foes and granting bonus to allies. With Atk/Spd Bond, she gains an extra Atk/Spd+5 when adjacent to an ally, meaning that she can stay near allies to chip away at foes and let another ally finish them off.

How to Use, Explanation

This build revolves around having the A skill Atk/Spd Solo. With her high mobility, Veronica can easily break from her allies to harness the power of this skill and deal extra damage. In particular, this build is great if you intend to use Veronica for attacking in addition to supporting allies.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Hliðskjálf

Its a pretty straightforward special effect refine that goes well with the trend of Veronica's kit. It adds an Atk/Spd buff to allies and an Atk/Spd debuff to enemies. The trigger conditions are much simpler as it is always active compared to the regular effect that requires Veronica to attack. Position Veronica with strategy to fully utilize this Atk/Spd boost!

Veronica is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat. In addition, her weapon skill has the effect of Dazzling Staff built into it.

Veronica Strengths

Powerful exclusive weapon skill gives bonuses to allies and casts penalties on foes

Veronica's exclusive weapon skill Hliðskjálf inflicts -2 to all stats of a foe after combat, as well as foes within two spaces of that target. Additionally, it will grant a large buff to Veronica and allies within two spaces. However, perhaps its greatest strength lies in the fact that it will prevent an enemy counterattack.

It also has access to a special effect refine that synergizes well with the original effect!

Healing an ally buffs ally allies simultaneously

Windfire Balm+ will grant Atk/Spd+6 to all allies after healing an ally, making it a powerful special skill for buffs. This is a very powerful buff indeed, but be sure to note that the buff lasts throughout the turn, meaning it will not stack with buffs from skills such as Atk Tactic, etc.

Can be used as both an attacker and support unit

Staff attackers have the drawback of having their attack power halved during combat, but with the default B skill Wrathful Staff, Veronica is able to deal damage from her staff like normal weapons. This means Veronica has the power to play both a support role as well as a long ranged attack role in your party.

Veronica Weaknesses

Watch out for weapons effective on cavalry

Veronica takes huge damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Can be countered with Null C-Disrupt

For the most part, Veronica can safely attack without worrying about an enemy counterattack, however, the skill Null C-Disrupt will cancel this ability and leave her open for a counterattack. With her low defensive stats, one counterattack can be enough to wipe her out, so let your allies take care of foes who hold this type of skill in their kit.
