Fallen Berkut's best IVs are +Atk and -Spd. Having a +Atk IV makes it very easy for Berkut to turn the tables on an attacking opponent when he counterattacks. Equipping him with Heavy Blade as a Sacred Seal will increase this effect even more. His Spd stat is practically useless, so the -4 change from a superbane would not effect him much.

How to Use, Explanation

This build is based around giving Quick Riposte to F!Berkut. Through Warding Stance 4 and Mirror Stance, Berkut will give himself a boost to his Res when the foe initiates combat, allowing him to tank most magic attacks with ease. Quick Riposte will give him a guaranteed follow-up attack, allowing him to turn the table on magic foes who try to initiate combat against this unit.

How to Use, Explanation

This skill set uses Distant Def 4 to allow F!Berkut to make him even more capable of enduring ranged attacks. This unit excels when taking an attack from a ranged foe, so this build is focused on enhancing that ability to the max. Giving him the skill Guard lets him delay a foe’s special, thus further preventing the damage they can deal to him.

Nullify follow-up attacks and counter from any range!

Kriemhild, F!Berkut's exclusive weapon skill, allows him to nullify a follow-up attack and counter a ranged enemy's attack if there is an ally within two spaces. This ability is extremely powerful for preventing the follow-up attack attack of high speed ranged attackers, like Linde and Eir, and then wiping them out with a counterattack.

Kriemhild has the downside of inflicting 20 damage to an ally, but this wil allow certain skills like Desperation and Brazen Atk/Spd, which depend on a unit's HP%, to trigger, meaning that you can use this effect to your advantage to support them.

Very powerful against magic attackers

Warding Stance 4 gives Berkut an additional Res+8 when the foe initiates combat, and inflicts -1 to the foe's special cooldown count. His C slot skill, Odd Res Wave 3, will grant him an additional Res+6 on odd numbered turns, meaning that he will gain a total of Res+14 when a magic foe initiates combat.

Weak to skills that are effective on cavalry units

As a cavalry unit, Berkut will take a ton of damage from attacks like Ridersbane or Poleaxe, which are effective on cavalry units. Be very cautious of the weapons your enemies are wielding.

Cannot prevent close-range follow-up attacks

F!Berkut's exclusive weapon will prevent the follow-up attacks of ranged attackers, but not of those against units who wield close weapons like lances or axes. F!Berkut's Spd stat is extremely low, so he is almost guaranteed to take a follow-up attack. Use a seal like Close Def 3 to slightly decrease the damage taken from this type of attack.

While it seems like a huge drawback, this actually works very well with heroes like Celica or Reinhardt whose skills trigger at lower HP percents, and this is an effective way of doing so without accidentally killing them.

Taking a double attack from a dragon that is any color other than red will usually be enough to take him down, so it is important to avoid these. You also have to watch out for high Atk nukes like Micaiah and Nino.
