With its power to draw Electric-type moves away from other Pokemon, Cubone is easily the best partner for Squirtle.

It also has access to a lot of Fire-type moves via TM, so Cubone can take care of pesky Grass-types as well.

  • The goal of this moveset is to provide Squirtle with coverage and range.
  • You can replace Ice Beam or any of the moves with Blizzard if you prefer a room-wide move that is good against Monster Houses.
  • Squirtle learns Hydro Pump at Lv. 40. Consider replacing Scald once unlocked.

Facade NormalNormal It damages an enemy. The damage it causes goes up if you have a bad status. It also prevents your Attack from being lowered when you use this move while you have a Burn.
Fling DarkDark You throw an item in an arc, hitting another Pokemon with it. It causes the same effect as throwing an item at an enemy.
Frustration NormalNormal It damages an enemy. The less you have opened up to your team, the more powerful this move will be.
Gyro Ball SteelSteel It damages an enemy. The slower your Speed compared to your enemy's, the greater the damage caused by the move.
Hail IceIce It changes the floor's weather to Hail. During the Hail, all Pokemon except Ice types keep taking damage.
Hidden Power NormalNormal It damages an enemy. The move's type changes on each adventure.
Ice Beam IceIce It fires off a cold beam, damaging a Pokemon, even one far away. It could also make the enemy Frozen.

Sleep Talk NormalNormal If you're sleeping, a move you know will be used automatically on an enemy near you. But keep in mind that nothing will happen if you use this while you're wide awake.
Substitute NormalNormal You'll create a Substitute if you have more than half your max HP. Every time you use this move, your HP decreases. When you create a Substitute, you won't be targeted by enemies, but you can't use moves or items, and you can't restore your HP naturally.
Surf WaterWater It damages all Pokemon in the same room except you. It can hit a Pokemon with the Dive status.
Swagger NormalNormal It makes an enemy Confused, but it also sharply raises the enemy's Attack.
Toxic PoisonPoison It makes the enemy Badly Poisoned. It never misses if used by a Poison-type Pokemon. It will even hit a Pokemon that's used Dig, Fly, or the like.
