No. of Floors | 15 |
Boss | Moltres |
Required? | Yes |
The following Story Missions take place in Mt. Blaze.
Mission | Suggested Team Lv. |
---|---|
Mission 8: Vs. Moltres at Mt. Blaze | 20 |
Numel | Pidgeot | Magby | Slugma |
Torkoal | Fearow | Arcanine |
During this part of the game, you'll be unable to gain any new friends aside from Absol. In addition, there are few options to raise your level or obtain useful Items. The only options to increase your level and collect Items are the optional Dungeons Rock Path and Snow Path. If you get stuck in continuing the story in this difficult part of the game, consider visiting these Dungeons to get ready to power through.
By this point, it is recommended to have your team at around Level 20.
Bagon | Nidorina |
Nidorina's Growl will lower your Pokemon's Attack, so be sure to take advantage of Wonder Tiles to reset your Stats. Also, Bagon's Attack is higher than Pokemon you're used to encountering, so it might take you by surprise. Be sure to take them on one at a time.
Cubone |
You're disallowed from using any Pokemon other than your Starter and Partner in this Dungeon, so your choices are limited. However, if you happened to use Cubone as a Starter or Partner, you'll have an advantage against the Poison-type Pokemon appering here.
Numel | Magby | Torkoal | Magcargo |
Can use Magnitude so even if you are far from it, it can damage you if you are in the same room.
Torkoal has very high Defense and get a few hits on you before getting knocked out. Try to keep it at a distance by using ranged Special Attacks.
They both have the Flame Body ability which has a chance to inflict a Burn on you if you use a contact move. Also, you cannot use Gravelerocks or any throwing item at them because it will just burn them.
Magcargo can also use Incinerate on you which has a chance to burn one of your items automatically rendering them unusable.
Totodile | Mudkip | Cubone | Squirtle |
You're disallowed from using any Pokemon other than your Starter and Partner in this Dungeon, so your choices are limited. However, if you happened to use Cubone, Totodile, Mudkip or Squirtle as a Starter or Partner, you'll have an advantage against the Fire-type Pokemon appering here.
Rawst Berry |
There are many Fire Pokemon here which can inflict the Burn status.
As you've probably collected a few Rawst Berries since the start of the game without having a chance to use them, this is a good opportunity for you to bring them out of storage. As Burn will both decrease your Pokemon's Attack stat and continuously inflict 20 damage, you'll definitely want to have these prepared to heal your party.
If you happen to find yourself without a Rawst Berry, the best thing to do is to head to the next floor as soon as possible, which will automatically heal all Status Conditions.
Moltres |
With only two Pokemon available to you at this point in the Story, your team will be highly vulnerable to Moltres' attacks. Moltres can use Agility to increase its Travel Speed, which gives it the dangerous potential to attack multiple times in a single turn. Also, its Ember can hit both of your team members at once.
Moltres can inflict the Burn status on your party, so be sure to have Rawst Berries on deck. Having other items which inflict Status effects on Moltres, such as Confuse Wands, will make the battle easier to handle. With the right Items, you can prevent Moltres from unleashing its potential, or even being able to attack at all.
