Tips and Strategies

Prepare for Steel-types

After clearing the first 10 floors of the Dungeon, you'll enter the Heart of the Frosty Forest. Here, the types of Pokemon encountered differ greatly from the surrounding forest, with Steel-types Lairon and Metang apparing frequently, along with the Rock/Ground-type Rhyhorn.

Consider bringing extra Max Ethers with you while at the mid-dungeon Kangaskhan Statue, if you're short on Moves with can hit highly-defensive Steel-type Pokemon.

Hail is on floors 13-20. I'd recommend taking a Weather Lock Orb, Weather Band, or a Pokémon with the Cloud Nine or Air Lock abilities.
