List of Contents
Once you've chosen who your starter and partner will be and what their genders are, you'll play as them for the rest of the game, so think about your choice well.
That said, you'll be presented with the option to change their names as you play the game!
Best Starter Pokemon
Since your base's apperance is based on who your starter is, you will not be able to change it later in the game.
As you go through the story, you will eventually lose access to Rock Path and Snow Path. That said, these dungeons are completely optional, so you will not lose out on anything once these dungeons are gone.
If you choose to have your starter and partner evolve in the post-game, they won't have their scarves anymore, so think about your choice well.
While these parts of the game won't be permanently gone, the absence of these can make the game a little bit more difficult.
Spoiler alert, but as you play through the game's story, some facilities in Pokemon Square will become unavailable. In particular, the Makuhita Dojo will become unavailable for some time, which makes leveling up a little bit more difficult during that part of the game.
