This is a guide about the list of Battle Bonuses that you can get in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Read on to learn how to achieve each of the battle bonuses and the rewards you get from achieving them.
There are several Battle Bonuses that you can get in a battle. You can achieve each bonus by performing well in battles.
List of Battle Bonuses | |
---|---|
1 | Clear Bonus |
2 | Puzzle Completion Bonus |
3 | No Damage Bonus |
3 | Wave Battle Bonus |
You always get a Clear Bonus every time you win a battle. The better you perform in battle, the higher the Clear Bonus. Follow the steps below to maximize your Clear Bonus!
To get a higher Clear Bonus, you need to line up your enemies in a Great Lineup. You can line them up in 1x4 or 2x2 formations, depending on the puzzle given. Creating a Great Lineup also gives you a 1.5x attack power-up bonus in battle. Click the button below to practice your Lineup skills!
Getting a better attack rating also gives you a higher Clear Bonus. To get an excellent rating, practice your attack skills in the Battle Lab.
Another way to get a higher Clear Bonus is to initiate a battle by hitting the enemy in the overworld. Jump on or hammer the enemies in the overworld first to have a bonus score.
To get the Puzzle Completion Bonus, you need to solve the puzzle in the given time frame, which is around 20-30 seconds. You also need to complete the puzzle without making mistakes. If you are having a hard time solving each puzzle, you can hone your skills using the Ring Trainer machine inside the Battle Lab.
You will receive the No Damage Bonus if you complete the battle without getting hit by your enemies. The technique here is to solve the puzzle within the given turn limit, which is around 1-3 turns, depending on the puzzle.
Once you've solved the puzzle, make sure to defeat each group of enemies in one go. To do this, choose the best and strongest weapon or item depending on the type of enemy you're facing.
You only get the Wave Battle Bonus if you challenge multiple enemies at once. To do this, confront multiples enemies at once in overworld. Make sure to defeat each wave of enemies with Great Lineups to receive higher Wave Battle Bonuses.
Since Paper Mario: The Origami King does not have a level-up system, the main reward for winning each battle are coins, which is essential in buying Time, useful items, and accessories.
Most of the accessories are pretty expensive. So getting battle bonuses can help you earn lots of coins. Remember, the better you perform in battle, the more coins you get. Ace every battle!
