We watched each trailer for Paper Mario: The Origami King. Here are our takes and reactions to each video, all the new information contained, and everything we know so far.

Announcement Trailer

Nintendo surprised everyone with the sudden release of Paper Mario The Origami King's announcement trailer on May 14, 2020.

The trailer starts with an eerie and sinister atmosphere with an Origami version of Princess Peach speaking to Paper Mario. The dialogue ends with Origami Princess Peach opening a trap door below Paper Mario.

The trailer then shows part of the story with what looks like the Origami King covering Princess Peach's castle in streamers. The rest of the trailer shows off some gameplay, Paper Mario making new friends, using new abilities, new locations, new ways of travel, a new combat system, and some bosses!

Finally, we get to see the release date of July 17, 2020, as the start of a whole new Paper Mario adventure!

A Closer Look at Paper Mario: The Origami King

A more in-depth trailer that showcases a lot more of the story, locations, activities, characters, and combat! We learn that the villain of this game is Ollie the Origami King and that he has taken Princess Peach's castle captive!

Paper Mario is going to have to follow the streamers to different locations to free the castle.We also get to see some new characters that will aid Paper Mario on his journey, most importantly Olivia, Ollie's sister who wants to foil his plans.

Another highlight from the trailer is the new battle system. We get to see how battles work, some bosses that will get in Paper Mario's way, and how boss battles work!
