This is a guide to the Ring Battle system in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Here you can find examples of patterns and video guides, as well as some basic tips on how to best line up enemies!
To clear Ring Battles easily, we recommend these two methods:
Those who want to improve their Ring Battle skills should practice using Ring Trainer, and those who want easier battles should use the Show Puzzle Solutions option.
If you're looking to sharpen your Ring Battle skills, you can do so by practicing on the Ring Trainer at the Battle Lab in Toad Town. If you pin down the basic puzzle patterns, you'll have an easier time solving them, even when pressed for time during battles.
After you've progressed a bit through the story, the "Show Puzzle Solutions" option can be unlocked by visiting Battle Lab and getting the Puzzle Solver item. This will make circles show up during battle to help guide you on where to place the enemies, a great help for puzzle crushing!
Sometimes seeing things in action makes them a lot easier to understand, so we have prepared video tutorials for the puzzles you can do on the Ring Trainer. If practicing with Ring Trainer isn't helping, you should check out our video guides!
