This is a guide on guessing what Mood the Snifit in Shroom City (Snif City) is showing. Learn to guess its expression by rubbing the Magic Lamp (Luigi Lamp) and figure out which sniff answer will help you progress through the story!
The first time you play the sniff quiz mini-game, the answer to the quiz will change randomly between plays. It is possible to win on the first round; however, there currently doesn't seem to be any way of guaranteeing a win.
Because the answer will not change between guesses, the best way to ensure a correct answer in the first round is to guess three different options. This will give you a 75% chance of landing the correct answer.

Snifit is starting to snicker before the round and give himself away.
If you happen to lose on the first round, you'll have to pay 1,000 coins to play again. This time, the correct answer will be the Snickering Sniff. It seems that Snickering Sniff is the correct answer for any of the guesses in the second round.
It's likely that the Snifit has started to get overconfident and snickers at you for losing money to it. Show the Snifit what you're made of with a correct guess!
In the northwest corner of Shroom City (Snif City), you'll find a mysterious tent topped with a Magic Lamp (Luigi Lamp) sporting a suspiciously familiar L.
When you talk to the Snifit, it will offer you a 10,000 coin prize if you can guess its mood, with a cost of 100 coins to play.
After guessing the Snifit's mood correctly, it will run out on the 10,000 coin offer and reveal a Magic Circle instead. Use the circle to rub the Magic Lamp (Luigi Lamp), and you'll free Luigi, who will give you the Suite Key! You can use this to unlock the room on the second floor of the Royal Hotel.

If you fail to guess the Snifit's mood on the second round of play, or you refuse to play again after the first round, Mario will join his brother in the magic lamp for all eternity. That's about as graphic a Game Over as you can get in a Mario game. For a common shyster, this moody Snifit has some high-level tricks up its sleeve!
