Do you wanna build a fii~re? If so you've come to the right place! This is a guide on how to start the campfire in Paper Mario: The Origami King. The wood logs of the campfire in Whispering Woods are begging to be burned, and you get rewards to do so, so let's bring the heat!
How to Start the Fire
Defeat the Fire Vellumental
To light fire (campfire) in Whispering Woods, first you will need the help of the Fire Vellumental.
This fiery foe can be found in the Scorching Sandpaper Desert, after rescuing Professor Toad. Technically, this is enough to light fire, but that won't give any rewards on its own, so you will want to continue the story until you...
Get the Sea Chart and Find the Shell

To get a use out of the camfire at Whispering Woods, you also need the Sea Chart. To get it, you need to defeat Rubber Band and enter the Sun Altar in Scorching Sandpaper Desert.
After that, clear the fog on Bonehead Island, then set out to search for the Big Shell.

Use the Sea Chart to head to the border between C3 and D3. |

Find the Shy Guy and dive here with the D-pad. |

Pull up the Big Shell. |
Go to Whispering Woods
Now that the preparations are finally done, it's time to return to Whispering Woods and start to light fire!
How to Light the Campfire

Head to Whispering Woods and the campfire. |

Find the Magic Circle to the left of the campfire and use the Fire Vellumental's powers. |

Rewards for Lighting the Campfire
Toad Trapped in the Shell
The (Venus) Toad you end up freeing from the Shell is actually the owner of the Cabin close by, and the last Toad to collect in Whispering Woods.
Treasure
Once Venus Toad has been freed, you can enter the cabin by the campsite to find the last treasure of Whispering Woods, Treasure No. 3: Ol' Grandsappy.
Those 100% warm almost as much as the fire!
