When Should You Buy the Green Shell Stone?

The Green Shell Stone is being sold by Monty Mole for 10,000 coins. However, by turning down his first offer, you can make force him to offer a lower price.

300 Coins.png
If you continue to say 'No' at each offer, eventually the price will drop to 300 Coins. At this point, you should buy the Green Shell Stone, or else the koopas will buy it instead.

Once the Koopas buy the Green Shell Stone from Monty Mole, you will have to buy it from them for 1,500 coins. This price is non-negotiable, so you will have no choice but to fork over the coins and pay this price. Therefore, you are best off haggling Monty Mole down to 300 coins, and then buying it while this price is still available.

What Does the Green Shell Stone Do?

The Green Shell Stone is essentially a key item, and quite literally, a key that you will need to progress forward in the story.

You'll need to have this item in order to open the gate for the Earth Vellumental Temple, along with the Blue Shell Stone, Red Shell Stone, and Yellow Shell Stone.

I bought it at 10,000. I feel super robbed. And now I'm struggling to buy the accessories.

I got down to 500 before I bought it….but now looking online I could’ve gotten down to 300….got swindled for 200 coins
