Nintendo released Ver. 1.0.1 on August 5, 2020, to fix various issues with Paper Mario: The Origami King. The following summary is from Nintendo's official site:

Summary of Fixes
Fixed issue preventing you from entering Spring of Rainbows in Shangri-Spa. Fixed issue preventing you from hitting Toad on top of Shroom City fountain. Fixed issue preventing Black Shy Guy from being added to the Museum Gallery. Note: If you have already had this issue, return to Scorching Sandpaper West after the sun returns and defeat Black Shy Guy again to add him to your Museum Gallery. Fixed issue preventing you from defeating Ninjis at Ninja Attraction, based on Mario's state. Fixed "hard lock" issue during Rubber Band Boss Battle. Fixed issue preventing Speed Rings scores (Battle Lab) from being added after solving 33+ lineups. Note: Current scores won't change, but new scores will be added. Fixed issue allowing you to obtain an item from outside of a certain coffin in Temple of Shrooms. This also corrects the hints you receive from the Love Toad in Toad Town. Fixed issue with occassionally looking up at Overlook Tower from the bottom of Overlook Mountain.

How to Update Paper Mario: The Origami King

Press the + Button on the Home Screen

With the Paper Mario: The Origami King game selected on the Home screen, press the + button on your Switch to view the game data.

Select Software Update

Select Software Update from the left tab.

You can update your game Via the Internet or you can Match Version with Local Users.

Depending on Nintendo's server maintenance status, you may not be able to update your game. You can check their official website for more information.

You can check your internet status by going to the System Settings from the Home screen, and selecting Internet on the left tab.

If the problem persists, you can try restarting your Switch or your router.

Press the + Button on the Home Screen

With the Paper Mario: The Origami King game selected on the Home screen, press the + button on your Switch to view the game data.

Select Software Information

Select Software Information from the left tab. You can go to the Nintendo eShop to see if your game is up-to-date.
