After exiting Snif City, head into the southwest pathway of the Scorching Sandpaper Minor, and another area will load, which is the Scorching Sandpaper Desert. Head northeast, past Warp Pipe No. 3, to find the Sun Altar.
After Professor Toad has joined the party, by pressing down on the D-pad, he'll dig up the earth below you to find coins aplenty! Especially when you see shining spots in the desert, take a moment to dig them up and earn some extra cash.
The Giant Pokey moves fast, and near the start of the battle, your Boot Car will be blown away by a sand tornado. But don't forget – you've got the Boot Whistle! By accessing the Items menu with Y, you can use the Boot Whistle to bring back your Boot Car.
Stay in the Boot Car for the majority of the fight, and only get out the second you have an opportunity to hit one of the Giant Pokey's seals, or ram the boot car straight into the bottom of its segments to destroy them without leaving the comfort of your vehicle. Keep hitting it until all three of its body portions go pow!
