Is Paper Mario Origami King Multiplayer - Top Image_Mario Kart.png

This is a guide to multiplayer availability in Paper Mario: The Origami King for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn whether or not Paper Mario for the Switch can be played with two players!

Is Paper Mario Origami King Multiplayer?

No Multiplayer in Origami King

The short answer is that there is no multplayer in Paper Mario: The Origami King.

While the game itself is an entirely single-player experience, it is still a game that can be enjoyed by friends or family members together, due to the puzzles and challenges that the game presents. However, you'll have to do it by swapping off the controller and back-seat gaming!

No Multiplayer in Previous Titles

All Paper Mario titles have been without multiplayer, so it's very likely that future titles in the series will also not include it.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star Not a Multiplayer
Paper Mario: Color Splash Not a Multiplayer

The Single-Player Experience

The Paper Mario series is an RPG set in the paper world of the Mushroom Kingdom. Like most RPGs, the game's main focus is on the single-player experience, so implementing any king of multiplayer experience seems very unlikely.

Although Luigi, Mario's brother, does make an appearance in the game, he is more of an ally/NPC, as opposed to a playable character.
