Overlook Tower 100% Walkthrough | Collectibles, Toads, and Hidden Block Locations

This is a walkthrough for Overlook Tower in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Read on to learn locations for all Overlook Tower collectibles and treasure, hidden toads, hidden blocks, and confetti holes, as well as other useful tips and strategies for getting through this area.

Overlook Tower Walkthrough

	Objectives
1	Enlarge Inside the tower, fill in the giant hole in front with confetti. Press the elevator button to open it and rescue a Toad.
2	Enlarge Ride in the elevator until you are attacked by colored pencils. Hammer the colored pencils back into the wall. The elevator will go back to the bottom, and you'll start a battle with Paragoombas.
3	Fill in the hole by the staircase and climb up. At the top, go in the door to the left and a cutscene with a Chef Toad will begin.
4	Go back out and through the door to the right to the restaurant. Continue through into the far door into the kitchen.
5	Enlarge Open the steel doors and hit the box inside with your Hammer to let a swarm of Mini Goombas escape. Hammer all the Goombas in the kitchen and the restaurant. You can find a list of all Mini Goomba locations further down. Click here to jump!
6	Return to the room with the Chef Toad and receive a bag of confetti. Use the confetti to fill the hole and climb up the staircase.
7	At the top, missiles will start flying down and flying horizontally around the area. Jump over them to avoid them, or Mario will take damage.
8	Enlarge After a while, a target will start appearing on Mario, after which a missile will fly at the target. Keep dodging and find the wall with a crack in it. Move Mario in front of it, then jump out of the way so the target aims at the cracked wall. The missile will break the wall, allowing Mario to go through.
9	Walk to the central tower and hammer the red button. Targets will start appearing around the ground – dodge them or hide under parasols to avoid missiles.
10	A ladder will come down, allowing Mario to climb up to the top of Overlook Tower. Go up quickly to avoid being hit by missiles flying out from either side of the screen.
11	On the next floor, take the next staircase to continue to the top of the tower.
12	After a cutscene, a boss battle with Colored Pencils will begin.
13	Enlarge Once you've defeated the Boss, go onto the Magic Circle and use the 1,000-Fold Arms to destroy the Red Streamer. You'll get an upgrade allowing you to hold more confetti.
14	Use the telescope on the left for 10 coins to look at Peach's Castle.
15	Climb down Overlook Tower. Outside, go down from the peak to the right, and fill in the hole in the staircase leading to the cable car with confetti. Ride the cable car to Autumn Mountain. You can also go down from the peak to the left and go in the Pipe in the back-left return to Picnic Road, where the Sensor Lab is now available.

Red Streamer Part Cleared

Clearing Overlook Tower means you've cleared the Red Streamer part of the game. Congratulations!

Boss Strategy Guide

Colored Pencils

Colored Pencils is a boss battle that happens in two phases. The gist of the first phase is to close the boss's lid by attacking on of the back three spaces with your Hammer, or by using the 1,000-Fold Arms from a Magic Circle. This will cause it to fire upon itself, then stun it for a follow-up.

In the second phase, when it uses the Rainbow Roll attack, you can approach from the front and use the 1,000-Fold Arms to grab the Pencils, then slam them into its base to deal a ton of damage.

Enlarge In the Elevator Door	After filling the hole in front of the elevator, press the button to the right to open it and get the Toad out.
Enlarge Flag on the Wall	Use the box shelves on the right to jump up and hit the red-dotted flag on the wall.
Enlarge In the Bucket	There's a bucket in need of hammering next to the box shelves. It will fall and three Toads will spill out.
Enlarge On the Bottom-Right Table 1	Go to the table to the bottom right and hit the triangles on the table there. Three triangles will fall on the ground. Hit them again to free the Toads.
Enlarge On the Bottom-Right Table 2	Hit the second triangle to free the Toad.
Enlarge On the Bottom-Right Table 3	Hit the third triangle to free the Toad.
Enlarge In the Souvenir Card Stand	Hit the Card Stand to the left of the entrance several times to get a Toad out.
Enlarge Cupboard in the Restaurant	Open the cupboard in the far back of the restaurant.
Enlarge Drawers in the Kitchen	Hit the drawers to the left of the fridge to find a Toad.
Enlarge Mushroom on a Scale	On the top left shelves in the kitchen, there's a folded mushroom you can hit to find a Toad.
Enlarge White Bowls on the Shelf	Hit the Toad inside the deep, white bowls on the top right shelf to get it down.
Enlarge Fried Egg in the Kitchen	Hit the fried egg on the stove in the kitchen to free a Yellow Toad.
Enlarge Embarrassed Chef Toad	After getting rid of all Mini Goombas, talk to the Chef in the room with the staircase.
Enlarge Sticker on the wall	Hit the blank square with sketch lines around it for a ? Block to appear. Use this to jump up and free the Toad from the Sticker.
Enlarge Near Save Block	The small blue pencil stuck by the elevator is a fake, so hammer it to find a Toad.
Enlarge On the Tourist Telescope	On the floor where the Red Streamer was, hit the right Telescope to get a Toad. You can pay first to see a close-up of this Toad's face, if you want!
