This guide shows you how to play and how to beat the Trial of Power Minigame, on Diamond Island, in Paper Mario: The Origami King, for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn how to play the Trial of Power and the best strategy to complete it!

Trial of Power Stages
The Trial of Power has 3 stages, each one more difficult to complete than the previous. Follow these steps to successfully complete the Trial of Power!
Stage 1
Jump to break varying sizes of Blocks, with varying numbers of required hits, within 30 seconds.

| Large Blocks | 6 |
Stage 2
Use your Hammer to destroy[/red] varying sizes of Blocks, with varying numbers of required hits, within 50 seconds. Press B to charge your Hammer, then press A to swing it. To save time, don't charge your Hammer when hitting small Blocks.
Note: Scoring an Excellent hit will count as 3 Hammer hits.
Stage 3
Final Stage: smash the giant nail into the floor within 40 seconds. Wait for the steps to appear, go to the top of the giant nail, and the stage's buttons and controls will be explained. For best results, chain jump combos in the beginning, then finish it off with Excellent Hammer hits.
Press B to charge, then A to swing the Hammer.
Press A to jump, then as you land, A again to chain attacks (max 4).
What is the Trial of Power
The Trials on Diamond Island
The Trial of Power is one of three trials waiting for you on Diamond Island, the other two being Trial of Wisdom and Trial of Courage.
You get an Orb for clearing each of them and you need these to progress the story. However, you won't be able to access Trial of Courage and Trial of Wisdom until you defeat the Ice Vellumental, so do that first!

As mentioned above, your reward for clearing the Trial of Power is the Power Orb. This is the only reward, so head to the Sea Tower to progress the story once you have all of them.
Trial of Wisdom Tips
Get Excellent Hammer Hits
Hit Medium and Large Blocks with Excellent Hammer hits to quickly destroy them!
Charge Your Hammer in Stage 3
Hit the nail in Stage 3 with jump chains, until it starts to give a little resistance. Then, pound it in with charged, Excellent Hammer hits!
