Water Vellumental Shrine 100% Walkthrough | Collectibles, Toads, and Hidden Block Locations

This is a walkthrough for Water Vellumental Shrine in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Read on to learn locations for all Water Vellumental Shrine collectibles and treasure, hidden toads, hidden blocks, and confetti holes, as well as other useful tips and strategies for getting through this area.

Water Vellumental Shrine Walkthrough

Inside the Shrine

	Objectives
1	Go through the door to the west of Water Vellumental Shrine. In the next room, go along the path while avoiding Sidesteppers if possible.
2	Enlarge In the next room, look for a Sidestepper poking out of the west wall. Hit the wall with the Hammer to break it and continue to the next room.
3	Enlarge Through the door, avoid the Sidesteppers and go to the north wall. Hit the wall with your Hammer and a POW Block will come down.
4	Enlarge Hit the POW Block when the Blue Sidestepper holding a panel walks by, making it flip over. Hit it with the Hammer when flipped over to start a battle. After the battle, you will obtain the Groovy Panel.
5	Go to the previous room and interact with the stand south of the panels on the floor to start the Water Vellumental slide puzzle.
6	Enlarge Once you have positioned the three tiles already there correcly, insert the Groovy Panel by pressing A.
7	Head back to the central room of Water Vellumental and into the east door.
8	In the east room, continue through the room smashing boxes with the Hammer until reaching the northeast end. Continue through the door. Sidesteppers only move sideways, so it's easy to hit them from the front, giving you an edge in battle.
9	In the next room, go around the pool and into the door on the west wall.
10	Enlarge Climb up and around the staircase until reaching the door above the Water Vellumental Dragon statue's head. Drop down and hit the statue's head with the Hammer. A door will open to the north.
11	Enlarge Go through the door and find a crack on the left side of the north wall. Break it with the hammer and in the next room, fall down into the pit.
12	Take the Groovier Panel and enter a battle with Sidesteppers. After the battle, go through the north door and climb up the staircase, then south through the door to return to the puzzle room.
13	Enlarge Go to the stand and solve the Water Vellumental puzzle like before. After solving it, go through the door to the west back into the central room. ・How to Solve the Water Puzzle
14	Enlarge The dragon's mouth on the north side will be fully open now. Once you go in, you will fight the Water Vellumental immediately, so be sure to save and equip your best items before going through the door!
15	After defeating the Water Vellumental, take the Water Bibliofold and head out the entrance of the Water Vellumental Shrine to go back to Autumn Mountain.

Optional: Max UP Heart

In the first room, go down the staircase in the southeast. Go the northside and hit the Toad in the window to get a +5 HP Max Up Heart.

Autumn Mountain

	Objectives
1	Outside the Water Shrine, go up the hill to the east to take a Pipe back to the starting area.
2	Enlarge Go to the Magic Circle and use Olivia's Water Vellumental transformation to fill the lake. Interact with the boat and a cutscene will begin.
3	Enlarge Go up to the monkey standing on the tuna cans on the north side and Olivia will interact with it. After it leaves, take the Can of Tuna.
4	Enlarge Go to the Tall Grass Plains and find the monkey on a shrine in the northeast corner. Interact with the monkey and give it the Can of Tuna. You'll find that you need to open the can.
5	Enlarge Find the Spike and Dry Goomba in the grass and go to the southeast clearing to have the Dry Goomba open the can for you. How to Open the Can
5	Enlarge Take the Opened Can of Tuna to the monkey waiting at the shrine in the northeast. While the monkey is eating the tuna, hit it with your Hammer. It will transform back into the boat paddler.
6	Go back to the starting area and talk to the boat paddler to continue to the Eddy River.

Water Vellumental

The Water Vellumental's fearsome Tidal Wave attack can deal 50 damage in a single blow. Avoid it by summoning the Earth Vellumental to raise yourself up and dodge the attack!

Olivia will tell you when to time it, so make sure not to use it too soon.

After it's exhausted from using the Tidal Wave, activate the 1,000-Fold Arms to wail on it for 7 damage a blow in Rush Mode.

Location
Enlarge Beetle on the Left Wall	In the large entrance room of the Shrine, head left and fill the Confetti hole. This will allow you to hit the beetle Toad on the wall, freeing it.
Enlarge Window Under the Entrance	After making the middle platform in the entrance room spin around, head down the stairs below and go north. A Blue Toad will be hiding in the window to the right.
Enlarge Up the Right Stairs	In the room before the second puzzle room, go to the bottom-right of the screen and up the stairs. At the top, another Blue Toad will be in the window here.

Treasure Name and How to Find
Enlarge Treasure No. 37: Restaurant Fridge	In the central room, go up the right staircase, then south, and fill in the hole to make a staircase accessible. Go down the staircase to reach a lower area. Go directly left in the lower area to find the chest with this Treasure.
Enlarge Treasure No. 38: Max UP Heart	On the same floor as Treasure No. 37, go to the north west corner and hit the space off the ledge to the north to make an invisible ? Block appear. Jump on the block and continue hitting forward to make more blocks appear, then go east through the door and to the end of the corridor to find the chest with this Treasure.
Enlarge Treasure No. 39: POW Block	Go inside the room with breakable blocks in a maze. Right when you enter, destroy the ones in the north-west corner to gain access to a hidden staircase. Go up the stairs to find a chest with Collectible Treasure No.39 POW Block.
