This guide shows you how to get an excellent rating with Fire and Ice Flower in Paper Mario: The Origami King for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn how to deal excellent damage to your enemies using Fire and Ice Flower, as well as when to use it in battle.

To use Fire and Ice Flowers you need to press the R Button while in the action phase to move from the list of Weapons to Items. From items, choose the Flower you want to use by moving the Analog-stick or the D-pad and then start hurling those balls of fire and ice by pressing the A Button.
Fire and Ice Flowers are only effective on enemies who are in a straight line, because the hurling ball of fire and ice can only be thrown in a straight direction. Make sure to line up your enemies well before taking action. It also won't reach flying enemies, so only use these items on enemies on the ground!
The timing you want to look for when using Fire and Ice Flowers the moment they ball of fire or ice appears by Paper Mario's hand. Press the A Button right away and Mario will send the lethal balls flying. Note that 4 balls are fired per use and that you need to wait for the next ball to appear. Spamming the A Button will cost you the excellent strike!
There are four kinds of flowers you can obtain in Paper Mario: Origami King world. Each Flower has a different Max Damage.
