Best Paths

The Remembrance

One of the best paths back in Swarm Disaster, The Path of Remembrance, makes another comeback here in Gold and Gears. In this game mode, all the end bosses are naturally weak to Ice which gives this Path a huge advantage already.

With the release of Ruan Mei and the existence of Jingliu, this Path easily is one of the best paths for Gold and Gears. This Path allows you to take down enemies by Freezing them and dealing damage through Dissociation.

The Abundance

The Path of Abundance also makes its return as one of the best Paths for Gold and Gears. Enemies in this game mode still hit like a truck, so the Path of Abundance helps you survive from taking huge chunks of damage.

With the Anicca Blessing, you will also be able to remove debuffs for the party. You won't be losing out on offense either, since the Path of Abundance has Dewdrop, which gets charged by healing and deals damage to the enemy when your character attacks.

Get Abundance and Preservation Blessings

Since bosses in Gold and Gears hit hard, use defensive Blessings from the Path of Abundance and Preservation in addition to your main Path Blessings to keep your team alive.

Additionally, the Destruction Blessing Regression Inequality of Annihilation is amazing for this game mode since it distributes damage equally to all your party members which ensures that no one gets one shot.

Best Characters

Character	Merits
Jingliu	Jingliu is arguably the best DPS character for Gold and Gears. The AoE damage from her Ultimate and Enhanced Basic ATKs, when paired with Remembrance Blessings can easily defeat any enemy in this mode.
Ruan Mei	Ruan Mei is one of the best Harmony characters for Gold and Gears. With the number of buffs she provides, along with the unique Break Efficiency buff, she can easily enable any DPS character as a hyper carry.
Yanqing	Even though there are usually multiple enemies in Gold and Gears, Yanqing can still do well when paired with Remembrance Blessings.
Gepard	Gepard is an amazing defensive support for Gold and Gears. He also has a chance to Freeze enemies with his Skill, which pairs well with Remembrance Blessings.
Pela	Pela is an amazing debuffer for Gold and Gears. She can reduce the DEF of multiple enemies and also remove their buffs, which can be crucial in certain moments.
Luocha	Luocha is one of the best healers in the game and can remove debuffs. The passive healing from his Talent helps keep the team alive, and he is also SP positive which can be crucial for teams that are SP hungry.
Imbibitor Lunae	Imbibitor Lunae still does well in Gold and Gears, even though only two of the end bosses are weak to Imaginary. Build a team around him and pair him up with Propagation Blessings to enhance his Basic ATK DMG.
Trailblazer (Fire)	The Fire Trailblazer is the best F2P shielder in the game and does well in Gold and Gears. They can taunt enemies and prevent them from attacking the rest of the party.
Fu Xuan	Fu Xuan is one of the best tanks in the game, and she is great in Gold and Gears. She can help mitigate a lot of DMG and prevent her teammates from dying. Her Skill can prevent Crowd Control debuffs as well.
Qingque	For Mono-Quantum teams, Qingque does well in Gold and Gears. She has great AoE damage and can take out weaker enemies with ease. Make sure to bring Silver Wolf along with her, since only the True Sting has the Quantum Weakness out of all end bosses.
Huohuo	Huohuo does great in Gold and Gears despite being a Wind character. The Energy Regen and ATK buff from her Ultimate, along with her AoE healing and cleanse on her Skill brings a lot of support for any team.

This team lets you use the Path of Remembrance's Dissociation to easily take out weak and strong enemies alike. Herta acts as the main DPS, capable of easily inflicting Weakness Break on multiple enemies which freezes them.

March 7th can freeze multiple enemies as well using her Ultimate while also providing chunky, single-target shields. Asta can buff the party's ATK and SPD while Natasha can heal and remove debuffs.

Jingliu Team

Paired with the Path of Remembrance, this team easily dishes out damage while also letting Dissociation take effect on enemies. Jingliu acts as the main DPS and can deal massive amounts of damage. Tingyun can buff Jingliu's DMG and restore her Energy.

Ruan Mei brings plenty of useful buffs like All-RES PEN and can increase Break Efficiency for the whole party. Fu Xuan acts as the main defenseive support unit since the amount of damage that enemies deal increases drastically the higher the difficulty becomes.

Imbibitor Lunae Team

Using the Path of Propagation, Imbibitor Lunae still does well as a main DPS. Yukong can provide CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, while Pela can reduce enemy DEF and remove their buffs.

This team allows you to enable Qingque as a hypercarry and have her deal lots of AoE damage. Bronya can give Qingque a turn, increasing her DMG, and also provide her with CRIT DMG and ATK using her Ultimate.

Silver Wolf is a great debuffer and can apply Quantum Weakness to enemies that don't have it. Fu Xuan can redirect damage the team takes to herself while also allowing her teammates to resist debuffs.

Recommended Dice Customizations

Recommended Custom Dice

Custom Dice	Merits
Domain: Pursuit	This Custom Dice allows you to move to non-adjacent domains, which lets you move quicker around the Plane. You can easily reach Domains of the same type you are currently on. It also expands the First and Third Planes, which gives you more Domain options.
Knowledge: Countdown	This Custom Dice allows you to increase the Countdown when entering domains with Knowledge, which can be useful if you want to explore more Domains or obtain more Blessings without the risk of the Countdown reaching zero.
Beacon: Walker Symbiosis	This Custom Dice allows you to generate Beacons for Domains with Knowledge, which can be useful if you want to earn more rewards from Domains or affect multiple Domains with different Beacons.
Heterogeneity: Data Inflation	This Custom Dice allows you to gain more rolls and use General Buff Dice Faces even after rerolling them, which can be useful if you want to enter battle with a multitude of buffs.

Recommended Dice Faces

Dice Face	Merits
General: Vandalism	This Dice Face allows you to immediately get the reward of Combat or Elite domains, then change them to a Blank domain. This is useful if you want to obtain rewards without having to battle or risk facing enemies.
General: Observation	This Dice Face allows you to move to any Domain in the closest three rows, which gives you a lot of options on which Domain to enter or choose.
General: Counteract	This Dice Face allows you to copy a selected Domain onto an adjacent Domain and apply Knowledge to it, which allows you to have another Domain of that type and can have synergy with Custom Dice that use Knowledge like Knowledge: Countdown.
General Buff: Dexterity	This Dice Face increases the SPD of all allies the next time you enter combat. This is especially useful when paired with the Heterogeneity: Data Inflation Custom Dice since you can roll more Dice Faces without sacrificing this one.
Knowledge: Wager	This Dice Face gives you a Blessing for every type of domain that has Knowledge on the current plane. This is amazing when paired with the Knowledge: Amber Barrier Custom Dice and other Dice Faces that give Knowledge to other domains.

Resonance Extrapolations to Avoid

Abundance Resonance Extrapolation

The Abundance Resonance Extrapolation heals enemies and removes their debuffs in the Third Plane, so it is definitely one to avoid choosing. Not only will you have a harder time taking down your enemies, but your debuffs to them will also be cleansed.

Destruction Resonance Extrapolation

The Destruction Resonance Extrapolation damages your party based on how low the enemies' HP is. This can be lethal if you don't manage to take out your enemies in the Third Plane and leave them at low HP, which is highly likely since enemies here can be tanky.

Learn About the Aeon of Erudition

Herta and her colleagues in the Genius Society prepared a new game mode for the Simulated Universe. Similar to how the Swarm Disaster was unlocked, you get it through a mission. The mission acts as a tutorial for the Gold and Gears game mode.

Enter Gold and Gears

Once you enter the Simulated Universe menu, click the Expansion Module button at bottom left corner of the screen to access Gold and Gears. Then, click the Start Exploring button to choose a difficulty.

Before you can actually explore, you must go through the usual process of picking a team to bring in your run.

Choose an Available Path

The usual Paths are also in the Gold and Gears but with the addition of the Path of Erudition. Choosing a Path shows the usual Path resonance and a different Resonance Interplay compared to the Swarm Disaster.

Unlike the Swarm Disaster, the Paths barely influence the domains. Their only influence is the Path Boost which will provide certain buffs to your team. You will receive the Path Boost when meeting the conditions for the Custom Dice's passive effect.

Ban Two Paths

In Gold and Gears, you can ban two Paths whose Blessings you do not want to appear during your run. Do note that the game will mark which Paths have Resonance Interplay with your chosen Path.

Modify Dice Face Setup

After choosing your Path, you can now select a Custom Dice and select the Dice Faces you want to use during your exploration. Each Custom Dice has a different initial and passive effect that will influence the domains during your run.

The Dice Faces works similarly to the Audience Dice in the Swarm Disaster. The Dice Faces are basically a set of buffs and effects that change every time you change domains. In Gold and Gears, you can choose which set of buffs will be available to you during your run.

Understand the Intra-Cognition System

Intra-Cognition is a real-time monitoring tool that tracks your Intra-Cognition level and the Secrets you have unlocked so far. Whenever you do a new run of Gold and Gears, a Bonus Reward Target will be set.

Following the target allows you to earn some upgrade materials after completing a plane. Also, you will earn additional Neural Impulse after your run, which can be used to upgrade the Neural Network, a skill tree that provides permanent buffs for your runs.

Check Your Location in the Map

When you enter Gold and Gears you will get access to a map that shows you tiles that represent domains you can enter. The tiles have larger symbols indicating the domain type and smaller symbols indicating the beacons in it!

Use the Communing Device to Move

Once inside a domain, defeat the enemies and get the Blessings as usual. But, to move to another domain, you must use the Communing Device. Note that if you choose an adjacent domain the other domains will collapse and cannot be entered.

Get Random Buffs Based on Dice Faces

The Communing Device is where you get the effect of the Dice Faces you have selected. If you do not like the initial buff provided, you can reroll or cheat. Cheating allows you to choose a certain Dice Face!

Monitor Planar Disarray

There will be a countdown in the Communing Device screen and this is the limit of domains you can explore before you trigger the Planar Disarray.

Similar to the Swarm Disaster, every movement to another domain will increase the Disruption Level which will buff the enemies. We recommend going straight toward the boss of each plane to avoid wasting the countdown!

Get through Three Planes

Like the Swarm Disaster, there are three levels or planes within a stage in Gold and Gears, each having stronger enemies as you progress. At the end of each plane, you can choose a boss.

If you win the first two planes it will grant an effect that goes against the boss in the Third Plane.

Beware of Resonance Extrapolation

When facing the boss in the Third Plane, Resonance Extrapolations will make their appearance. These will affect the battle by simulating the Path Resonance you chose upon facing the boss of the Second Plane, on your team.

Make sure to choose the right Path Resonance that will be simulated, otherwise your party may suffer from it!

Level up the Neural System

Upon playing and clearing Gold and Gears, you will obtain Neural Impulse which you can use to upgrade the Neural System. The skill tree is similar to the Ability Tree in the normal Simulated Universe.

Use Neural Impulse to unlock talents and buffs that will aid you in the later stages of Gold and Gears.

Unlock More Dice Faces

More Dice Faces can be unlocked when you unlock various Secrets. This can be done by meeting the Trigger Criteria of a certain Secret type.

For Trailblaze Secrets, it is just a task of maintaining your Intra-Cognition level at a certain range when clearing a plane. For the Aeon Secrets, some will be unlocked after collecting all the Secrets in a certain plane.

The Final Chapter Secret can be unlocked after you have all the Secrets. Note that rewards such as Upgrade Materials and Stellar Jades can be earned after getting a certain amount of Dice Faces and Secrets!

Unlock More Custom Dices

Most Custom Dice can be unlocked after using a certain Dice to clear Gold and Gears in any difficulty. For Company Time, Curio Extrapolation, and Data Inflation, these Dice can be unlocked after using a total of 6 different Custom Dice to clear Gold and Gears.

Do note that rewards such as Stellar Jades can be obtained after using certain Dices in Gold and Gears!

Attempt Conundrum Mode

After completing Difficulty 5 of Gold and Gears, Conundrum Mode will be unlocked. Conundrum Mode allows you to attempt 12 additional levels to Gold and Gears. Each level adds modifiers that either buff enemies or add handicaps to your run.

The highest Conundrum Level that can be run is Level 12. Do note that clearing a Conundrum Level will allow you to obtain several rewards such as Stellar Jades!

How to Beat Difficulty 5 and Conundrum 6

Unlock the Path of Erudition

Simulated Gold and Gears features the new Path of Erudition, which you can immediately use in the Gold and Gears game mode.

To unlock Erudition in the regular Simulated Universe, you must collect all the Secrets in Gold and Gears and complete the Mission Gold and Gears: Finale.
