All enemies in Honkai: Star Rail have their weaknesses presented as symbols! Approaching them in open-world exploration and reaching a certain distance, a small bar above their name will appear, showing their elemental weaknesses.
Inside Calyxes or Domain-like stages like Forgotten Hall, Stagnant Shadow, and Echoes of War, their elemental weakness is displayed just before you head into battle to better prepare yourself.

Once you learn your enemy's weaknesses, try placing characters that use those elements in your party to gain an advantage over them. This will allow you to break their shield and deal massive amounts of damage.

Breaking your opponent's shield by attacking with the correct element will cause them to stagger and pause any attacks they were charging. Their turn order will also get delayed, so make sure to use this advantage to avoid getting hit by a powerful attack!

Using techniques and attacking enemies with the correct element will cause you to have an advantage over your enemies. Some Techniques can also be used to attack enemies or support the party!
However, you'll need to do it before the enemies notice you, or you might find yourself getting ambushed instead.
