Blade is an amazing damage dealer who's tailored more for AoE damage. He also does not need to use a lot of SP, which makes your team comps more compatible with units who want to spam their Skills. Get Blade if you need a great AoE damage dealer!

This Blade build focuses on increasing his HP% and CRIT Damage to make the most out of his abilities and Traces.
Blade's damage scales better with HP% than ATK%, so try to get HP% stats when you can. Blade should have at least 50% CRIT Rate to activate the Inert Salsotto's effect, which should be easily achieved thanks to his CRIT Rate traces and the Longevous Disciple relic set.

Sub-DPS | DPS | Support | Healer |
---|---|---|---|
Blade | Dan Heng | Asta | Lynx |
This Free-to-Play Blade team will focus on keeping Blade alive and enhancing him through buffs. You can replace Asta with Pela as another 4-star alternative since Blade will do more damage with Pela given that his damage doesn't scale that well with ATK% buffs.
Lynx can heal Blade and increase his chances of being targeted by enemies, which will allow him to use his Follow-up Attack more frequently.
DPS | Support | Support | Healer |
---|---|---|---|
Blade | Bronya | Ruan Mei | Luocha |
This Blade team comp is focused on enhancing Blade to become the Hypercarry of the party. Ruan Mei DMG buffs and enhanced Break Efficiency and keep your team SP positive while Bronya focuses on buffing Blade by being able to spam her Skill.
Luocha is a great healer here because of his synergy with Blade's self-damaging mechanics. Lynx can be a 4-star alternative as she can increase Blade's chances of getting hit with her Skill, allowing Blade to use his Follow-up Attacks quickly.
Alternative | Explanation |
---|---|
Pela | Support Replacement Pela works great with Blade since she's able to apply AoE Debuffs on the enemy by reducing their DEF%. |
Sparkle | Support Replacement Sparkle can advance Blade's turn and provide CRIT DMG buffs through the use of her Skill. |
Silver Wolf | Support Replacement Silver Wolf can inflict multiple debuffs on an enemy and implant a missing weakness. |
Lynx | Healer Replacement Lynx can use her Skill to heal Blade and increase his chances of getting hit, which allows him to dish out his follow-up attack sooner. |
Bailu | Healer Replacement The Alternative 5-Star Healer if you don't have Luocha. |
Natasha | Healer Replacement A F2P healer alternative that's good enough to heal the entire party. |
Sub-DPS | DPS | Support | Healer |
---|---|---|---|
Blade | Jingliu | Ruan Mei | Luocha |
Given that Blade is pretty much a self-sustaining damage dealer that specializes in AoE damage, he can be paired with an additional damage dealer that specializes in single-target damage!
Alternative | Explanation |
---|---|
Jade | DPS Replacement Jade can use her Skill on Blade to drain his HP and help him dish out his own Follow-up attacks at a faster rate. |
Hunt or Destruction Characters | DPS Replacement All Hunt and some Destruction path users are tailored to dealing Single-Target damage. Slot who you can into this role! |
Bronya | Support Replacement For this team, we recommend Bronya to be at least Eidolon Level 1 for smoother rotations with her Skill Usage. Bronya can give an extra turn to either Blade or another DPS and can increase the entire party's CRIT DMG. |
Robin | Support Replacement Robin can increase the party's DMG. Robin can also advance everyone in the turn order after using her Ultimate. |
Welt | Support Replacement Depending on your team comp, you can even slot in Welt as a support or third DPS unit if you're able to balance the team's SP generation. |
Yukong | Support Replacement Yukong's Skill can increase the damage of both Blade and the other DPS. |
Huohuo | Healer Replacement Huohuo can cleanse debuffs through her Skill and restore energy to the entire party with her Ultimate. |
Bailu | Healer Replacement The Alternative 5-Star Healer if you don't have Luocha. |
Natasha | Healer Replacement The go-to F2P healer alternative. |
Relics | Rating & Merits |
---|---|
Longevous Disciple x4 | ★★★★★ - Best Longevous Disciple is Blade's best Relic. This Relic has amazing synergy with Blade since he can trigger the 4pc. effect while it also increasing his HP%. |
Longevous Disciple
x2
Eagle of Twilight Line x2 |
★★★★☆ - 2nd Best A 2pc. combo of Longevous and Eagle of Twilight Line will be your go-to damage-dealing set while you're still farming for a full 4pc. Longevous Relic set. |
Ornaments | Merits |
Inert Salsotto | ★★★★★ - Best Inert Salsotto is Blade's best overall Ornament. It also greatly outperforms Rutilant Arena if Blade has higher Eidolon levels. |
Rutilant Arena | ★★★★☆ - 2nd Best Rutilant Arena is technically the go-to Ornament if you want Blade to deal the most damage. However, you need to consider if the amount of time it takes to farm a new Ornament set is worth it over a minimal damage increase. |
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm | ★★★★☆ - 2nd Best Izumo Gensei is best used when Jingliu is on Blade's team. This gives a huge CRIT Rate boost to Blade. |
Light Cone | Why We Recommend It |
---|---|
The Unreachable Side | ★★★★★ - Best Blade's Signature Light Cone provides CRIT Rate and HP%, both of which increase his damage output. This also increases Blade's DMG when he is attacked or consumes his own HP. |
Dance at Sunset | ★★★★☆ - Great A great 5-Star substitute that greatly increases Blade's aggro, which will let him dish out more Follow-up attacks. This increases his CRIT DMG and Follow-up Attack DMG. |
A Secret Vow | ★★★★☆ - Great A Secret Vow is Blade's best 4-star Light Cone at S5. It flat out provides more damage (at S5) than the Event Light Cone even if Blade's HP% is higher than the enemy. |
Ninja Record - Sound Hunt | ★★★★☆ - Great Ninja Record: Sound Hunt is a great Event Light Cone that provides Blade with CRIT DMG. The Light cone can out-damage an S4 Secret Vow (if the current HP% of an enemy is lower or equal to blade). |
Flames Afar | ★★★☆☆ - Good A decent option for Blade if its at S5. Only slightly behind the Event Light Cone. |
On the Fall of an Aeon | ★★★☆☆ - Good ATK buff is negligible, but On the Fall of an Aeon provides a DMG boost when Blade inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy. |
Trace | Priority & Explanation |
---|---|
Basic Attack | ★★★★★ - Highest Priority Blade's Basic Attacks are his main damage-dealing tool. This should be leveled up first. |
Skill | ★★★★☆ - High Priority Improving his Skill increases his DMG from all sources. Leveling this trace should be your 2nd highest priority. |
Ultimate | ★★★☆☆ - Mid Priority Improving Blade's Ultimate simply increases its damage. This should be leveled up evenly with his Talent. |
Talent | ★★★☆☆ - Mid Priority Improving Blade's Talent simply increases its damage. This should be leveled up evenly with his Ultimate. |
Why We Recommend It | |
---|---|
E1 | ★★★★☆ - Good Blade's E1 is a very good Eidolon that greatly increases his Ultimate's damage. |
E2 | ★★★★★ - Great Provides Blade with roughly Half a Main stat or 5 substats worth of CRIT Rate. This is a good stopping point if you are investing a bit of Stellar Jades towards Blade's Eidolons. |
E4 | ★★★★☆ - Good Increases Blade's HP, which in turn increases his overall DPS. |
E6 | ★★★★☆ - Good Improves Blades Talent by reducing the number of stacks you need to trigger it and increases its damage. |
Blade's Talent ability requires him to either take damage or consume his own HP to build up charges. Having a shield prevents him from taking damage, so avoid pairing Blade with characters from the path of Preservation like Gepard or March 7th.
Along with dealing damage, Blade's Ultimate has two core functions. One of them is for reaching max Cap of 90% total HP loss for increasing the damage of his Ultimate. The other is for using it as an emergency tool to bring him out of the brink of death.
Trace | Scaling and Explanation |
---|---|
Basic ATK | Shard Sword: Deals 50% Wind DMG to a target enemy. Enhanced - Forest of Swords Consumes HP equal to 10% of Blade's Max HP and deals Wind DMG equal to the sum of 20% of his ATK and 50% of his Max HP to a single enemy. In addition, deals Wind DMG equal to the sum of 8% of Blade's ATK and 20% of his Max HP to adjacent targets. If Blade's current HP is insufficient, his HP will be reduced to 1 when using Forest of Swords. Forest of Swords cannot regenerate Skill Points. |
Skill | Hellscape: Consumes HP equal to 30% of Blade's Max HP to enter the Hellscape state. When Hellscape is active, his Skill cannot be used, his DMG dealt increases by 12%, and his Basic ATK Shard Sword is enhanced to Forest of Swords for 3 turn(s). If Blade's current HP is insufficient, his HP will be reduced to 1 when he uses his Skill. This Skill does not regenerate Energy. Using this Skill does not end the current turn. |
Ultimate | Death Sentence: Sets Blade's current HP to 50% of his Max HP and deals to a single enemy Wind DMG equal to the sum of 24% of his ATK, 60% of his Max HP, and 60% of the total HP he has lost in the current battle. At the same time, deals Wind DMG to adjacent targets equal to the sum of 9.6% of his ATK, 24% of his Max HP, and 24% of the total HP he has lost in the current battle. The total HP Blade has lost in the current battle is capped at 90% of his Max HP. This value will be reset and re-accumulated after his Ultimate has been used. |
Talent | Shuhu's Gift: When Blade sustains DMG or consumes his HP, he gains 1 stack of Charge, stacking up to 5 times. A max of 1 Charge stack can be gained every time he is attacked. When Charge stack reaches maximum, immediately launches a follow-up attack on all enemies, dealing Wind DMG equal to 22% of Blade's ATK plus 55% of his Max HP. At the same time, restores Blade's HP by 25% of his Max HP. After the follow-up attack, all Charges are consumed. |
Technique | Karma Wind: Immediately attacks the enemy. After entering battle, consumes 20% of Blade’s Max HP and deals 40% of Blade’s Max HP as Wind DMG to all enemies. If Blade's current HP is insufficient, his HP will be reduced to 1 when this Technique is used.

No, Bronya is still best for Blade, but only when played as hyperspeed and SP is used every turn. The damage difference is quite close though.

Run 136 Blade with -2 bronya or 97 Blade with 160+ bronya or 101 Blade with 99 bronya. For autobattle run luocha not Gallagher and only 1 advancer with either Ruan mei or robin.
