Preservation is one of the Paths you can choose in the Simulated Universe of Honkai: Star Rail. See how to unlock it, how to use it, the best characters that can use it, the path's buffs, and all the Preservation Blessings here!

The Path of Preservation is one of three paths unlocked at the start of World 2 in the Simulated Universe.
Simulated Universe World 2 Guide
The Path of Preservation is also available in the Swarm Disaster. Here, the Path of Preservation can be unlocked after collecting 1000 Cosmic Fragments.
Simulated Universe Swarm Disaster Guide
The Path of Preservation is also available in Gold and Gears. Here, the Path of Preservation and its Blessings are already unlocked and can be used immediately!
Simulated Universe Gold and Gears Guide
The Path of Preservation provides different bonuses when characters are shielded and provide shields after completing specific actions. Its Path Resonance will deal DMG to all enemies based on the current amount of Shield between all allies.
This Path is great if you want a great balance of defense through shields and offense through Path Resonance.
The Path Resonance of Preservation in the Simulated Universe will deal DMG to all enemies based on the total Shield HP between all allies.
This is best done by using Path Resonance after a character summons a shield.
The Path of Preservation's Audience Die can apply Cornerstone to a domain. When a domain has Cornerstone, it will not disappear when the player goes further inside the plane.
After entering the Boss domain, which is the last domain to enter before finishing a plane, you will gain a bonus amount of shield effect and blessings.
You will get more amounts of shield effect based on the number of domains with Cornerstone applied. You will also get Blessings for every different type of domain applied with Cornerstone.
While using the Path of Preservation in Swarm Disaster, remember not to enter domains with Cornerstone because they will lose the effect once you enter them.
With Resonance Interplay in Swarm Disaster, getting three Blessings of Nihility and Remembrance will provide more bonuses after triggering Path Resonance.
Keep in mind that only three Blessings of each Path are required to activate their respective Resonance Interplays, so you don't need to get more Blessings after unless you want to.
The Path of Preservation increases the strength of Shields applied to the team when you meet the conditions for the Custom Dice's passive effects. So, it is important to understand how your chosen Custom Dice's passive effect works since it is different for all!

Gepard | Gepard has the strongest shield in the game. His Ultimate can give strong shields to all allies, dealing a lot of Path Resonance DMG. |
Trailblazer (Fire) | While Fire Trailblazer's shield isn't as strong, the Path of Preservation can improve it to protect all allies. |
March 7th | March's shield will be stronger and the Path Resonance can deal a decent amount of DMG. |
If you want to make the most out of the Path of Preservation, you should have a Shielder in the party. The stronger the shield, the more powerful the Path Resonance gets.

This Blessing allows you to deal Quake DMG when you get hit, which is based on your Shield. This Blessing is a must-have since Quake DMG is your main source of damage when running Path of Preservation.
This Blessing gives you another way to deal Quake DMG, which is by attacking. This is a great Blessing to have because having more ways of dealing Quake DMG is always better than just waiting to get hit by the enemy.
This Blessing enhances Quake DMG you deal and allows you to make it AoE. This Blessing is nice if you need to deal with multiple enemies or just need increased Quake DMG.
This Blessing is nice to have if you need more ATK for your DPS characters, as long as you have a character that gives shields in the party.
This Blessing is good to have while running any Path if you are using a character that provides shields since it strengthens the shields they give.
This Blessing is great for dispelling debuffs if you are using shields in your party. Having multiple shields even makes this Blessing better since it gives more chances to dispel.
This Blessing is nice to have if you need more CRIT DMG for your DPS characters as long as you have a source of shields in the party.
Just like Construct - Burst, this Blessing is nice to have if you need more CRIT Rate for your DPS characters as long as you have a source of shields in the party.
This Blessing gives you a shield whenever Weakness Break is applied on an enemy, so it is great if you need more shields while running different Paths like Remembrance or Nihility where Weakness Break is enhanced.
If you have a character that gives shields while using another Path, this Blessing can help reduce the damage your party takes.

In addition to Path Resonance, Resonance Interplay is a new addition available in Swarm Disaster. The Path of Preservation has Resonance Interplay with both Nihility and Remembrance, which provides debuffs to enemies after using Path Resonance.

Resonance Interplay, a feature introduced in Swarm Disaster, is also available in Gold and Gears. The Path of Preservation has Resonance Interplay with both Destruction and Erudition, which provide bonus effects after using Path Resonance.
