How to Unlock Each Character

Herta	Ice	The Erudition	Obtained after clearing the Simulated Universe World 1 for the first time.
Natasha	Physical	The Abundance	Obtained by completing Lying in the Rust.
Qingque	Quantum	The Erudition	Obtained after clearing Memory Stage 3 of Forgotten Hall.
Trailblazer (Fire)	Fire	The Preservation	Obtained during the Roads to the Past Have Long Been Closed mission.
Yukong	Imaginary	The Harmony	Obtained as a reward by completing Memory of Xianzhou Stage 1 of the Forgotten Hall.
Lynx	Quantum	The Abundance	Obtained by completing Youci's Clever Decor and clearing Stage 2 of Pure Fiction.
Sushang	Physical	The Hunt	Previously available by reaching Prosperity Level 8 in the Aurum Alley's Hustle and Bustle event.
Dr. Ratio	Imaginary	The Hunt	Obtained by completing A Moment of Peace and logging in before the end of Version 2.1.

The 2.1 Livestream announced that there will be a 4-Star Selector in the upcoming Vignettes in a Cup event in Version 2.1. After completing event objectives, players can claim one of the characters shown above for free!

Dr. Ratio Free Until End of Version 2.1

Dr. Ratio is currently free to get for all Trailblazers as long as they complete the A Moment of Peace Trailblaze Mission and log in before Version 2.1 ends. The gift can be claimed via the in-game mail!

S Tier - Top Priority

Dr. Ratio

Asta, Dan Heng, Trailblazer (Fire), Natasha, Yukong, and Lynx are the best free characters to build as soon as you get them. These characters can help you get through most of the content without struggle.

While limited, Dr. Ratio is one of the most powerful units in terms of dealing single-target DMG. Once you get him, make sure to prioritize building him as soon as you can to get a strong boss-killer for your team!

A Tier - Normal Priority

All A-Tier Characters
March 7th	Qingque	Serval

March, Qingque, and Serval are good characters to invest in thanks to having a decent shield and can deal a good amount of damage respectively.

B Tier and Below - Low Priority

All B-Tier Characters
Trailblazer	Herta

While it's fine to build both the Trailblazer and Herta, do keep in mind that you will attain much better characters to invest your materials in.
