In the story mission The Deported, the player has a choice to kill McKay or spare him in the game Far Cry 6. Learn what happens when you kill McKay, what happens when you spare him, and which is the best choice.
List of Contents
Killing McKay will yield a unique Wrist Gear called Canadian, Eh? which cannot be obtained anywhere else in the game, and is missable if you do not get it here.
Gear | Effect | Set |
---|---|---|
Canadian, Eh? | Poison Is Money: Receive Pesos for killing an enemy with poison. | None |
The Canadian, Eh? has a unique Effect, Poison is Money, which yields 15-18 Pesos for every enemy you kill who is inflicted with the Poison status. Although Poison isn't the best choice in most cases, if you happen to be using a Poison-based build, this item could be the perfect addition. Also, the enemy doesn't have to die from the poison effect directly, or be finished off by a poison weapon – as long as the enemy has been hit by the poison effect, Poison is Money will kick in.
If you go along with Juan's decision to spare McKay to earn money for Libertad, you'll be rewarded with 5,000 Pesos after the cutscene dropped directly in your inventory.
No notification is given for the earned pesos, so it's easy to miss, but you'll be able to see the difference comparing before and after.
A choice between a missable unique item and a few dollars? It's almost like the game wants you to kill him.
Even though the Canadian, Eh? might not work with every build, it allows for money farming against any enemy simply by hitting them with Poison once. And of course, it cannot be stressed enough that this is the only method to get the item, making it a must for completionists.
Although 5,000 Pesos might seem like a windfall, it will vanish after just a few purchases, and can be easily gained by completing Los Bandidos Missions, which you should be doing as much as possible to farm Pesos, materials, and even Gunpowder. Once you've gotten in the Bandido habit, you'll be farming enough easy Pesos that you'll never regret giving McKay what he deserves.
