Not being seen is a crucial strategy in Far Cry 6 since stealth you can save yourself from unnecessary attention from an army of soldiers. Below are the tested ways on how best not to be seen.
Pressing the Circle button (for PS4/PS5) while walking will make you enter the Crouch Mode. This makes you slower but a lot more silent, allowing you to creep up to your opponents and perform a quiet machete kill.
It is advisable to dispose off the bodies so as not to alert your enemies that you were there.
Once soldiers see you, it will take a while for soldiers to fully notice you as a threat especially if you have your weapon holstered. Hide behind rocks or obstacles when needed to avoid detection.
Also, tag your enemies and the cameras in the area via your phone to know where they are and avoid them. Bring Oluso with you will also help with remaining hidden.
Bows and sniper rifles are one of the best methods to take out opponents at range without attracting too much attention. Bows are particularly effective as they are naturally silent. But, for sniper rifles. It is advisable to equip it with a mod that enhances its stealthiness.
As mentioned earlier, silencers are necessary in order to make your weapons stealthy. While pistols have such a function, their damage is relatively when compared to snipers so stick with those.
Gadgets on the other hand will also work wonders as they offer a silent kill. But be warned as this is not a viable strategy long term as gadgets have limited ammo.

For those opting to use regular weapons, Suppressors will be your go to in order to maintain stealth. Slap them on your weapons to ensure silence even with your deadliest rifles.
