PS5 and Xbox Series X Upgrade

This is a guide to upgrading from the current-gen edition of Far Cry 6 to the next-gen edition. Read on to learn how to acquire next-gen upgrades and what carries over in the game.

How to Upgrade to PS5 Version

Digital Copy

How to Upgrade
1. Make sure to update your system to the latest system software.
2. Go to the PlayStation Store on the console using the account you bought Far Cry 6 with.
3. Download the upgraded version once it is available.

Upgrade to PS5 Version is Free

The upgrade to the PS5 Version is free! All you need to do is to check if the upgrade is available in your region, go to the PS Store, and then download the upgrade!

Physical Copy

How to Upgrade
1. Download the upgraded version on your console once the upgrade is available.
2. Insert the disc to launch the next-gen version of the game.

PS5 with Disc Drive is required

PS5 upgrades are not available for physical versions of Far Cry 6 on the discless PS5 Digital Edition. Also, note that you can't use the Digital version of the game with this method.

3. Download the upgraded version once it is available.

Upgrade to Xbox Series X Version is Free

The upgrade to the Xbox Series X Version is likewise free. You don't have to shell out any money.

Upgrade Not Available on Xbox Series S

This will not be available on consoles with no optical disc drive such as the Xbox Series S.

  3. Season Passes
  4. Any unlocked digital content

All your preorder bonuses, claimed Ubisoft Connect rewards, season passes, and DLCs will be transferred to the next-gen version of the game.
