The two difficulty settings in Far Cry 6 are Action Mode and Story Mode. Read on to find out the difference between the two and how to change them in-game!

Difficulty Setting Differences
Action Mode ・ Enemies are tougher and deal more damage
・ Slower health recovery
Story Mode ・ Player takes less damage
・ Faster health recovery
・ Enemies are weaker and deal less damage

Action Mode

Action Mode is for those who are experienced in the Far Cry series or those who want to experience a Far Cry classic.

In this mode, the enemies are tougher and they deal more damage. Your health will also take a while to recover. You'll need creativity and a good strategy when playing in Action Mode.

Choose this mode if you want a more challenging playthrough.

Story Mode

This difficulty setting is perfect for people who are new to Far Cry.

In Story Mode, your character will take less damage and recover faster. The enemies are also weaker and will deal less damage to your character.

Choose this mode if you want to enjoy the story and explore the world without worrying too much about surviving.

How to Change Difficulty

Change Difficulty in the Middle of the Game

You can also change the game's difficulty settings in the middle of the game.

Simply pause the game so you can access the menu. Click Options, then System. Afterwards, select Gameplay and you'll find the game's difficulty settings at the topmost part of the menu.

Select the difficulty setting you want and simply go back to the game.
