Far Cry 6 provides you with a shift in perspective that previous games don't have, and put your character in third-person view. Read on to learn how and when you can activate third-person mode in the game!

While there are some in-game areas and cutscenes that shift away from first-person, third-person mode cannot be manually activated during the game. This means you cannot toggle to third-person while playing, and it will only triggered during specific scenarios.
Here are ways that third-person mode can be triggered in the game.
When going around inside of a Guerrilla Camp, the game shifts into third-person mode. This allows you to see the gear that you have currently equipped, and move around and interact with different characters and amigos in the area.
Third-person mode can also be activated curing cutscenes, allowing you to see Dany/Dani instead of being stuck in first-person mode like in previous games.
Using a Supremo briefly shifts your perspective into third-person. This shows you what the ability does, giving you a great amount of details and effects to see while playing.
In Photo Mode, you can move around the camera and view Dany/Dani in third-person. This allows you to find the best angles and create the best in-game photos to share with people.
Driving and Flying can only be done in first-person. The perspective would not change even when riding different types of vehicles, or using weapons attached to vehicles.
Swimming is also a first-person action, which means you have to be more careful while diving into deep areas like sea caves.
With the exception of Supremo abilities, shooting and other types of combat also happen in first-person mode only. Far Cry 6 encourages precise gunplay, which means aiming in first-person is a must to succeed in combat.
