Checkpoints are locations of interest in Far Cry 6. Learn more about Checkpoints and how to liberate them, including the rewards that come by doing so.

Each checkpoint has a commanding officer that usually initiates the call for backup. Its crucial that you hunt him down immediately since he also drops a keycard that opens a locked room in the checkpoint.
Even after defeating the commanding officer, each checkpoint has a few soldiers. Defeat all of them to liberate the checkpoint.
The last objective in taking over checkpoints is to destroy Anton Castillo's billboard. Use a variety of weapons to take it down and once you do, combined with the objectives above, the checkpoint will be yours.
Checkpoints are certain road intersections that are guarded by the Yaran military. They are crucial points in the road that often times serve as barriers to nearby towns or cities.
All Military Checkpoints Locations
The best reward that you can get when liberating checkpoints is that it serves as a new fast travel point. This helps make travel in all of Yara much easier.
Each Checkpoint will always have an FND crate for you to get. Its always hidden inside a locked room. The key will be inside the main checkpoint office or, if you killed the Commanding Officer early, you would've picked it up from his corpse.
Once liberated, each checkpoint will then be manned by Libertad guerillas. Oftentimes, one of them will carry information regarding Libertad crates or new mission locations such as Anti-Aircraft Locations or Interception missions.
Liberating 10 Checkpoints will grant you the Check It Out Trophy.
