Fishing Guide: How to Fish

Fishing is a minigame available in Far Cry 6. Read on to learn how to fish, what to look out for in seawater, and how to upgrade your lures and lines.

Look for Ripples in the Water

Fishing Guide Far Cry 6

Check for ripples in the water to figure out where the fish are. If the water is clear enough, you'll be able to spot the fish easily.

Cast Line

Cast Line

One tip we have for casting line is to cast near where the ripple is and wait for the fish to take the bait. Fishing is indeed all about patience.

Fight the Fish's Movement

Fight the Fish

Once you've lured and hooked in the fish, watch out for the movement prompts that will tell you which direction to pull to reel the fish in.

The colour of your line will indicate how successfully you'll be able to reel in fish.

Line Color Indication
Green Good! Keep on pulling.
Yellow Pull less harder, let the fish wiggle for some room.
Orange Danger! The fish is getting away.

Try to Maintain a Green Line

You must maintain a green line at best to successfully reel in the fish. Keep a close eye on your line's color and adjust how hard you're pulling on it accordingly.

Benito will reward you with a fishing rod along with XP for completing the operation Fuel the Revolution.

Tackle Boxes are available nearby fishing spots. These are orange boxes where you can upgrade your fishing rod indicated by a fishing hook icon on top.
