The map of Yara is divided into five major regions.

  • Isla Santuario, the starting island
  • Madrugada
  • Valle de Oro

  • Esperanza, the capital city and region

The following features appear as icons on the Map of Yara. Interacting with notes and characters with an exclamation point (!) symbol attached to them will also cause new icons to appear on the Map for the player to hunt down.

Far Cry 6 - FND Cache Icon.pngFND Caches Labeled military chests which contain rare items or materials.
Far Cry 6 - Treasure Hunt.pngTreasure Hunts A type of Mission which results in a rare reward.
Far Cry 6 - Yaran Story.pngYaran Stories A type of optional Side Mission.
Far Cry 6 - FND Base Uncapture Icon.pngMilitary Targets A Yaran military outpost which the player can seize for rewards.
Far Cry 6 Anti Aircraft Site Icon.pngAnti-Aircraft Sites Cannons which prevent aircraft from passing in high airspace until destroyed by the player.
Far Cry 6 - Military Checkpoint Uncaptured Icon.pngCheckpoints Roadblocks which prevent cars from passing until captured by the player.
Far Cry 6 - Ambush Icon.pngAmbushes A planned attack on Yaran military forces resulting in rewards.
Far Cry 6 FND Recon Points.pngRecon Points Recon Points allow the player to receive intel on FND supply drops.
Hunting Spots Locations where players can hunt for a specific animal.

Bandido Leaders Freeing these characters will recruit them for the Los Bandidos Operations minigame. Bandido Leaders do not appear on the map directly.
Far Cry 6 - Gran Premio Icon.pngGran Premio Races Locations where the Gran Premio racing minigame is held.
Far Cry 6 - Depleted Uranium Icon.pngDepleted Uranium Can be found primarily at Anti-Aircraft Sites.

Depleted Uranium can be used to acquire new Supremos and Resolver Weapons at Juan's Office or Juan's Arm Dealers.

How We Did It: We went to the Northwest most part of the map just before the prompt "You are about to leave Yara" notifies us and triggers the secret ending. We placed the waypoint on the location parallel to the farthest entity in open waters which are usually Anti-Aircraft Sites, and came up with this beautiful number.

How big is the Yaran map you ask? While there is no official number yet from Ubisoft, we can rely on the power of good old mathematics to give an approximate area of the Yaran Map.

It's safe to say that the small country of Yara gives us a little over 80 square kilometers of play area, the largest that any Far Cry game has ever gone.
