Types of Animals

Mythical Animal

Mythical Animals are the apex predators of the Yaran wild. They are toughest and meanest animals you will find and it takes a lot to take them down. Bringing them down will make them vanish from the map forever.

Alpha Animal

Alpha Animals are stronger variants of the regular wild animals. While they are tougher, they are not as tough as Mythical Animals and will respawn randomly across the map.

Wild Animal

These are your regular animals found throughout the wilds of Yara. Their meat can be exchanged for a variety of items that can be used for upgrades.

How to Hunt Animals

Have the Hunter's Lodge

Unlocking the Hunter's Lodge facility will not only net you access to the Animal Set, it will also give you locations for the hunting grounds of several animals for a few Yaran pesos.

Upgrading the Hunter's Lodge to its maximum level also gives you the benefit of using your regular weapons against animals without damaging their meat.

Equip the Animal Set

While it will take a while especially if you are on Action Mode, you will need to defeat the Mythical Beasts to acquire this set which has some gear that have effects suited for hunting.

Don't Use Guns

If you cannot access the maximum level of the Hunter's Lodge yet, then, don't use guns as these will damage the animal's meat and instead of acquiring their meat, it may turn into damaged meat/fish. The exception are birds which will always yield their meat even when you use guns.

Preferably, use your machete or bows in order to ensure the meat stays undamaged.
