Cockfighting Guide: Best Roosters to Use

Cockfighting is a minigame where you can earn a few hundred Yaran Pesos in Far Cry 6. Read on to know how cockfighting works, general rules, rooster attacks, rewards, and more!

How Cockfighting Works

Cockfighting General Rules

General Rule

✓ Timed Rounds

Best Two Out of Three

There will be three rounds of which you have to win two, else it means you lose or the match ends in a draw.

Timed Rounds

Each match lasts for 90 seconds. If there is not a definite winner in that time frame, the rooster with the larger HP will win the round.

Fight Against AI

All matches conducted in cockfighting will be against the CPU.

Difficulty Levels and Rewards

Difficulty	Description	Rewards
Civilian	Beginner	- 100 Yaran Pesos
Guerilla	Intermediate	- 300 Yaran Pesos
Revolutionary	Hard	- 500 Yaran Pesos - Boxing Gloves Charm (1st win on Revolutionary)

You can unlock Guerilla and Revolutionary subsequently after winning a match on the the respective previous difficulty mode.

Rooster Main Attacks

While you can jump, dodge attacks, and move up, down, left, and right, your rooster will have 3 main attacks and 1 super attack:

Attack	Description
Gallo Super	Super / Finisher (heavy dmg)
Rooster Rush	Short-Range attack, deals heavy dmg
Claw Leap	Jump attack, covers distance, deals med. dmg
Beak Strike	Long-Range attack, deals low dmg

Gallo Super

Gallo Super is the rooster's super attack. This deals heavy damage and requires accuracy on your party.

You can completely miss landing an attack, wasting your Gallo Super, if you aren't positioned correctly. Make sure the enemy is within reach and is facing your general direction.

Rooster Rush

Rooster Rush is a close-range attack that deals heavy damage. Your rooster can recover quickly from this attack and so you can chain this to another attack or go in for another Rooster Rush.

You can counter this attack by side-stepping it.

Claw Leap

Claw Leap is a jump attack that will cover distance between you and the enemy. This has a long windup so you must get into the rhythm of pressing the buttons if you plan on spamming it. Think Eddy from Tekken. This attack can also slightly track the enemy .

You can counter this attack by putting in more distance between you and the enemy, or sidestep it.

Beak Strike

Beak Strike deals low damage but is especially useful for covering distance without wasting any movement.

You can counter this attack by side-stepping it.

Fill Up Rage Bar

Your rage bar fills up whenever you miss an attack or when you take damage. A full rage bar will enable you to perform a Gallo Super.

Where to Find the Cockfighting Ring

Montero Farm

The cockfight ring is located in the Montero Farm in Madrugada. Look for the rooster icon on top of a man's (Ivan) head to find the ring.

Best Roosters to Use

Roosters Have No Effect on the Fight

Really though, the rooster you choose won't make much of a difference and will have no effect on fighting. You can probably strategically buttonmash your way through winning a round.

However it's worth to collect all the roosters to unlock the Recrooster Trophy.
