Forbidden Cards are unordered within each tier
The best Forbidden Cards are Eternal Hunger and Portrait of Fury due to not only they can draw cards but also provide AP to the team when activating Eternal Hunger's effects or deal decent damage when using Portrait of Fury. The value that they provide for the team is much greater than any other forbidden cards and can be taken by any character.
| Forbidden Card | Explanation |
|---|---|
Forbidden: Eternal Hunger
|
This can draw you 1 card and give 1 AP whenever you draw it either by another card or naturally on turn start. It will not go to the discard pile as it has the retain tag or you can use it because of the exhaust tag. You need a card like Precision Aim or characters such as Cassius or Nia to discard it to be able to reuse it again making it a highly valuable card when played right even without discarding it. |
Forbidden: Portrait of Fury
|
Without fulfilling its condition it is already a great card that can draw a card for each hit. Each 4 cards in hand, including the card itself when used, will increase its hit count by 1 which also increases the draw amount. This can be used by anyone as it can deal damage and draw at the same time giving a lot of value for only 1 AP. |
| Forbidden Card | Explanation |
|---|---|
Forbidden: Ecstasy of Violence
|
This forbidden card is specifically catered for damage dealing characters with draws. Other characters using a draw card counts for the effect and can reach up to 0 AP that can deal a lot of damage for free. |
Forbidden: Disposable Ego
|
This card has the highest potential of drawing the most amount of cards since it is based on the AP cost of the drawn card but can also draw only 1 card if the drawn card is 0 AP. It can draw an average amount of 1-2 cards per use. |
| Forbidden Card | Explanation |
|---|---|
Forbidden: Gesture of Freedom
|
Gesture of Freedom will reduce the cost of one random 1 AP and above card in hand for the entire battle. This can make a card that cost 1 AP be useable for free. However, you have to rely on chance to get the perfect hand that has both the forbidden card and the card you want discounted. |
Forbidden: Guidance of Futility
|
The effects of this will activate whenever the card holder draws a card. If one card draws 3 then the effect will activate 3 times. However, this does not work if other party members draw a card as it will only activate whoever owns the forbidden card. |
| Forbidden Card | Explanation |
|---|---|
Forbidden: Engraved Malice
|
When played, this card will play two random cards at no cost. Due to the randomness of the card it can sometimes break the flow of how you play your cards. You can activate this card without any AP if the card holder has the Multifaceted Parallel Universe Nexus equipment. |
| Relevance to the Meta | The strength of the forbidden card is based on effective and useful it is in the current season game modes. |
|---|---|
| Role Requirement | Unlike most neutral cards, forbidden cards can be taken by any role. The value of a forbidden card is much higher the more role it fits. |
| Efficiency | A forbidden card is highly efficient if it can be used with cheaper AP cost and provides value higher than what you pay for. |
| Curse Restriction | During a chaos run, forbidden cards will apply a negative effect on your team when draw. The less punishing the card is, the better because sometimes the effect it gives can end your run prematurely. |
The best forbidden cards are ranked based on these criterias and how useful they are in many aspects of the game including endgame modes and when inside chaos zones.
