How to Run Away (Bounce Out)

This is a guide on how to run away from fights in NEO: The World Ends with You (NEO TWEWY). Read on to learn how to pause the fight and bounce out of battle!

How to Run Away From Fights

Press + (Switch) or the Touchpad (PS4) in order to pause the fight. On the Pause Screen, you are presented with the option to Run Away from the fight.

The Run Away option is also presented on the Game Over screen when you lose a battle. After losing, players have the choice to Run Away or Retry the battle.

Reasons to Run Away

Changing Difficulty

The most common reason to run away would be to change Difficulty or configure Level. Increasing Difficulty gives you the chance to obtain high rarity Pins but makes enemies stronger. Meanwhile, increasing Level increases the Pin Drop Rate but decreases your team HP.

Difficulty and Level settings should always be checked before getting into fights.

How to Change Difficulty

Changing Pins

You can run away from fights to change your pins if you don't like how your Psych attacks work. Some Noise also have elemental weaknesses to your Pin Affinities, so it's highly recommended to bring Pins with the appropriate Affinity into battle.

Chaining Battles

Chain Battles are triggered when you interact with multiple Noise prior to activating the Fight. Chain Battles could be tricky to trigger because Fights activate automatically a few seconds after interacting with 1 Noise, so you can Run Away from a fight if it isn't the Chain Battle you desire.
