Rhyme entered the previous Reaper's Game, with her brother Beat after dying in a hit-and-run accident. She stopped Beat from attacking Neku and Shiki, who Beat believed to be Reapers.
On Day 3, the pairs joined forces to defeat strong Noise. The siblings proved to Neku that they could be powerful allies.
On Day 4, due to hastiness, Beat and Rhyme were caught in a Noise trap that ended up erasing Rhyme from existence. The trap was set up by Reapers Koki Kariya and Uzuki Yashiro.
In the aftermath, a Fallen Angel bound the soul of Rhyme to a Pin and Beat joined the Reapers hoping to learn how to bring her back. Throughout the second week, Rhyme could be seen in her Noise form, perched on Beat's shoulder every time he would enter the scene.
During the third week, Beat partnered with a solo Neku in order to take down the Composer. Doing so caused Beat to be removed from his Reaper position. The duo eventually beat the Game Master and Composer, and brought back Rhyme from her Noise form, along with her memories.
