Dragon Age: The Veilguard - How to Keep Everyone Alive

You cannot keep everyone alive by the end of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. See what actions and choices help keep most of your companions alive in this guide!

How to Keep Everyone Alive

Impossible to Keep Everyone Alive

Send Davrin or Send Harding

Technically, it is impossible to keep everyone alive after the Isle of the Gods main quest since one of the companions is guaranteed to die. At the start of the mentioned quest, players must choose whether they want to have Harding or Davrin lead the distraction.

Whoever players select for the task will die, so they should carefully choose who they want to keep or lose.

The Last Gambit

Hints for the Final Mission Choices

To keep everyone else alive, players must correctly assign their available companions to each of the three tasks needed at the start of The Last Gambit main quest.

These decisions play a big part in whether companions and faction leaders survive during the final fight and siege against the elven gods.

Likewise, players must also choose the correct companion to defend the manor at the start of The Dread Wolf Rises main quest. Ideally, players should select a companion who has experience with sieges or is skilled at front-line combat to increase the latter's likelihood of surviving.

Make All Companions Heroes of the Veilguard

Harding and Rook After Making the Choice

Before the game's point of no return, players should finish all of their companions' questlines for each of them to become a Hero of the Veilguard. Doing so ensures a much higher probability of them and the faction leaders they help surviving during the game's end-game.

Have Two Star Faction Strength or Higher

Additionally, players should ensure that each of the factions has at least a two-star strength rating before the point of no return, as failing to do so increases the probability of the faction leaders dying during their assigned end-game tasks.

To do this, players must try to complete all the factional quests they can and sell valuables to available faction vendors.

Save Miranthous Instead of Treviso

Outcomes of Helping Treviso

Players should choose to help Minrathous over Treviso to have an easier time making all the factions two-star strong. It is harder to continue increasing the former's strength upon choosing the latter compared to the other way around.

However, it is still possible to get Miranthous' strength to two stars even after helping Treviso. Doing so will require players to complete all available faction quests for Minrathous for before the choice to maximize factions standing.

Sell Valuables to the Wisp in the Crossroads

Wisp Merchant for Unsaved City Faction

Choosing not to help either city will lead to the loss of all side quests and merchants in that city. However, a wisp merchant will spawn in The Crossroads to represent whichever city was not saved.

After completing The Heart of Corruption quest, players can sell valuables to this wisp in order to increase faction strength with the faction associated with the unsaved city.

You can sell valuables to the wisp in the Crossroads that stands in as the not-defended city's faction vendor to increase that faction's strength. Ex. I saved Treviso, but I can sell valuables to that vendor to increase Shadow Dragon faction strength.
