Location | Rivain Island |
Description | |
With the elven gods ready to complete the dagger, the team must launch a desperate attempt to kill Ghilan'nain. |
Major Choices and Objectives |
---|
|
Before proceeding, Rook will need some last bits of advice from Varric. Speak to him again back at the infirmary.
Use the Lighthouse Eluvian to travel directly to Tearstone Island. There will be no fast travel choice on the World Map.
Decision | |

Davrin: So, who will it be? | |
Choice | Consequence |
Davrin leads the distraction | ・ Davrin will be unavailable for the remainder of the questline. ・ Davrin cannot be chosen during the Last Gambit quest |
Harding leads the distraction | ・ Harding will be unavailable for the remainder of the questline. ・ Harding cannot be chosen during the Last Gambit quest |
The plan is to have either Davrin or Harding lead half the team to distract the Antaam, leaving Rook and your chosen party open to stop the Ritual.
Should You Send Davrin Or Harding To Lead the Distraction?
Travel along the outer shoreline and get through the Antaam camp, where there will be heavy Antaam resistance.
The island's defenses will be raining down mortars from above, watch out for the projectile markers to avoid getting damaged.
Continuing forward, Issbaqoun, an Antaam miniboss, will defend the path. You must defeat him to continue, and he will have a large initial armor healthbar.
Keep moving past the door that opens after Issbaqoun's defeat. Head inside a cave where there will be Antaam mercenaries defending the entrance, consisting of foot soldiers and ranged mages.
Defeat the Antaam Reaver in the entrance, and move forward to get to an elevator to go up. Outside, fight your way through deepstalkers, and even more Antaam resistance.
Reach the elevator on the other end of the cliffside ruins, leading up to the Gatehouse.
Drop down to the courtyard in front of the gate, and you will see your other companions on the opposite side of it. Defend the gatehouse from attackers as the distraction team tries to get the door open.
When the darkspawn resistance is vanquished, head towards the open gate and pass through to the Elven Ruins.
There is an optional area to the Waterfalls containing a large chest. Turn left down the path and jump towards the waterfalls. You can climb back up and head towards the Stronghold.
There will be heavy darkspawn and Antaam resistance with more mortars on your path to the Stronghold.
Go past the bridge and finally head inside the Stronghold. This is one of the last lines of defense stopping you from one of the gods, so be ready for a fight.
Be careful of Veil Tears, as they detonate if you reach close proximity of them, dealing big damage in a large AoE. Be wary of when you are close to one and be prepared to dodge if set off.
Prioritize quickly destroying any blight boils, as they can spawn darkspawn and link to path-blocking blight.
After clearing the darkspawn and the paths of blight, head inside towards the Inner Sanctum. The path forward is hindered by wards, and two of your companions volunteer to disable them.
Decision | |
---|---|
Neve: Your way's just as dangerous. Don't like it, but one of us has to do it. | |
Choice | Consequence |
Neve, you take point | ・Bellara disapproves
・Neve becomes unavailable for most of the ending ・Neve cannot be chosen during the Last Gambit quest |
Bellara, let's try your way | ・Neve disapproves
・Bellara becomes unavailable for most of the ending ・Bellara cannot be chosen during the Last Gambit quest |
The one you choose will take down the wards successfully but will be captured by Elgar'nan.
Should You Send Neve or Bellara to Dismantle the Wards?
Before the final push, you will be given a chance to form your party again as there will be changes to who can follow you.
Companion | Reason |
---|---|
Lucanis | Will join the second team to get the final hit on Ghilan'nain. |
Harding or Davrin |
The leader you chose for the second team. |
Neve or Bellara |
The one captured by Elgar'nan after disabling the wards. |
Prioritize clearing the blight boils to stop the darkspawn from spawning, and clear the remaining enemies afterwards.
Destroy the blight boils to free your companions and damage Ghilan'nain's Blight Shield.
There will be hordes of darkspawn and Antaam warriors defending Ghilan'nain to fight through on the path to the blight boils.
Destroying the boils breaks Ghilan'nain's shield, leaving her open for Lucanis.
