Doing Davrin's companion quests will significantly strengthen your bond with him. Here are all of his quests:
Davrin attains the Hero of the Veilguard status after completing the Profane and the Lost companion quest. Players must select between making the griffons the Sentinels of the Arlathan Forest or returning them to the Grey Wardens.
Do note that you are not required to be in an exclusive relationship with Davrin for them to be a Hero of the Veilguard!

The first half of the Commitment Conversation for Davrin will appear after The Cauldron main quest. After the events of the quest, speak to Davrin in the Lighthouse while he's carving wooden figurines of the fallen Wardens in Weisshaupt. He'll ask if you express romantic interest in him, or simply flirting around.
After expressing romantic interest in the Lighthouse conversation after The Cauldron main quest, you can commit to a relationship with Davrin during his companion quest A Friend in Need. The prompt occurs after witnessing Assan help a sick halla.
You can buy the Display on Ancient Griffons from the vendor at Hossberg Wetlands for 90 Gold and 10 Flawless Crystals. Giving the gift to Davrin will start the Fit For a Warden Companion quest.
Head to the Lighthouse after purchasing the Display on Ancient Griffons and interact with Davrin with the Give Gift prompt. He will comment on the gift and the quest will finish.
