Tier List Criteria
Compatibility with Multiple Teams
The most important criteria for this tier list is the capabilities of a Companion to function well with any Rook class and specialization without any drawbacks. This means the Companion can be recommended for any elemental build since it does not rely on the Rook themselves, but rather their own abilities.
Keep in mind that some Companions may still benefit more on specific Rook builds and does not entirely mean higher tiers can completely outclass lower tiers.

Overall Utility
Other than compatibility, the overall utility of their abilities to support the Rook in combat is important as well. This can vary from crowd control, buffs/debuffs, skill tree passives, and their Veilguard specializations.
