Choose to Become a Lich

It is recommended that players have Emmrich become a lich, as the subsequent Veilguard Skill and Legendary Armor that he gets are more straightforward to use in combat over the rewards for resurrecting Manfred.

Do note that Emmrich will only obtain the Hero of the Veilguard status and the other rewards after completing the quest called Heir to the Dead (if you save Manfred) or Will and Testament (If Emmrich becomes a Lich).

Bring Back Manfred

The skill and armor obtained from resurrecting Manfred focus on playing at low health, which may be difficult to manage. However, there is still merit in making this choice as the damage increases provided are quite high.

Become a Lich

Choosing to have Emmrich become a lich instead grants him improved Necrosis application and damage, as well as more Quietus application, without the need to manage Rook's HP for maximum benefit.
