Choose Your Final Assignments

With the plans for the final battle being made, you must choose which companions to assign in various battle objectives.

Choose the Right Person For The Job

The outcome on how well your chosen companion will do depends on a few things. First, getting Hero of the Veilguard status for that companion, and if their respective factions are at full strength. These can be achieved by completing companion and faction quests.

And second, if they are a fitting role for the task itself. For example, you would likely want to send the Mage-killer Lucanis for the War Mage assignment, if you want it to succeed. Choose carefully, as poor choices can have fatal consequences.

All Final Mission Choices

Recover the Lyrium Dagger

As you arrive back in Minrathous, you must fight through the invasion to find Solas and his dagger. There will be numerous darkspawn and Venatori on your path towards Solas.

Clear the Hessarian Square

Arrive at the Hessarian Square where you must defeat all the enemies, and afterwards break through the blight. You will come across the companion you chose to fight the War Mage in battle with each other.

Continue Hunting Solas

After you see the War Mage fall, you must continue looking for Solas. Keep pressing on, fighting through Venatori magisters and soldiers, and you will reach the Boutique Quarter.

You will meet Solas again here, and after your conversation, you will work together once more to stop Elgar'nan.

Keep Pushing Forward

Now with the Dread Wolf fighting alongside you, fight through a long path filled with darkspawn and Venatori. Go from the Thalsian Court, past Urthemiel's Approach, all the way to the Safe House Approach.

Solas is a powerful mage ally, and will be of great assistance in your push forward.

Reach the Safe House Approach

Get through Urthemiel's Walk by destroying the enemies and blight boils in your way. Once at the Safe House Approach, Solas will try to defeat the Archdemon while you push on.

Free Your Captured Companion

On your path forward past more darkspawn resistance, you will come across the companion who dismantled the wards and was captured by Elgar'nan. The captured Neve or Bellara will still be alive, but under Elgar'nan's control.

The blight powered by your companion will form Elgar'nan's Wrath, a Level 40 Main Boss.

Defeat Elgar'nan's Wrath

Elgar'nan's Wrath Weakness
Vulnerable	Necrotic
Resistant	Cold

Elgar'nan's Wrath will have a massive Armor healthbar to chip through, so use armor damaging abilities and heavy attacks first. Defeat the boss in order to proceed.

As the boss falls, Rook will free the trapped companion, and get to the Safe House with the other team members.

The Last Gambit Sub-Quests

One Last Breath

Honor the Fallen (Optional)

You have an option to honor the fallen if needed. Speak to the Watcher near the start of the Safe House to honor them.

Last Chance for Gear Tinkering

Isabela's Shop and the Caretaker's Workshop will be at the Safe House to make any last-minute purchases or upgrades to your gear.

Meet With the Team

Meet with the team at the fire place, where you will discuss the plans for the final assault.

Talk With the Team (Optional)

Before starting, you have the opportunity to talk to everyone on the team, including the companions, Morrigan, and the Inquisitor.

Begin the Climb

When ready, proceed to the quest marker to start the final quest.
